gwagen, the way some people (including posters in CGN's shotgun forums) idolize him it's only natural he would.
I'm dubious on the claim of 'greatest shotgun shooter ever' I saw or heard on that video.
Anyone who knows the sporting clays scene will attest that Digweed is the world's best bar none.
The Olympics is not the be all and end all, and doesn't even have sporting clays, a very difficult clay target discipline.
A few years back George competed in a all clays event involving skeet, trap, 5 stand, and sporting clays. While not finishing top in all events, he scored consistently high to win the high over-all.
Twenty three world titles , shooting in 5 decades, with success in every one puts him pretty close to the top shotgunner.
No one denies he's a great shooter and if suckers around the world will pay him to be part of some inner circle he'd be foolish not to take their money.
But still the question remains why he hasn't competed in the Olympics. He has proven he can shoot the disciplines. What is he afraid of?
BTW, the MBE is on the same scale as the Order of Canada and should be regarded in that context.
And, you cannot buy a MBE!
Where's his gold medals in skeet and double trap? The fact is, the best shooters in the world are in the Olympics. You forget she has two gold medals in double trap and one in skeet and and NSSA world championship at age 13. When all the best gather, she dominates. And as far as FITASC world championships go, that's like "world series champion"... Its a world championship in name only.
