Husqvarna Sporting Rifles #### - ALL MODELS!!!

Siigghhhh, soon have to get a Husqvarna or even a CG. Have to decide on cal first, dont have much use for 6.5X55 but tempted all the same. Traditionalky it was the caliber of choice for moose in scandinavia, mostly on driven hunts where parties went out and had designated shooters on post. Lots of beauties in this thread, which is the oreferred model? Large ring or small ring?

Are you on the west coast? Sometimes out that way. If you are going to be in Central anytime let me know if you want to try the 9.3x62 I just got.

This rifle is a model 649 . They are nice rifles. Hope it wasn't loaded, though :joke:

Well, from the pic, I thought you had a M/98 (large ring) based 640, but it seems you may have a M/38 (small ring) based one instead.

If so then, the magazine lenght is 3.260" and won't accept most commercial ammo except some Norma.

Top is a M/46 (3.240") magazine while bottom is a M/649 (3.260") one

I think that we all agree that Husqvarna built very nice rifles.......Have had 4 over the years, but was never happy with the triggers so ended up selling them. These triggers all had work done to them while I owned them.......they could be lightened up but the creep/travel could not be taken out. I am wondering whether anyone here is aware of a currently available replacement trigger which would work on say a model 4100 (my favourite) ? It is a bit of a puzzle to understand how Husqvarna could do such a great job on everything except their triggers.

You could put a timney in them, but would need to also change the safety (unless you can find an old tradewinds adjustable trigger that used the original safety). I have had the same issue with Husqvarna rifles/actions. Lots to like about them but that trigger is not acceptable to me.

Congrats to your son. We don't have them around here.

I saw the image but there is two links. Take the "direct" for display on the forum then click on the small "picture" icon in the upper menu, and paste the link to it.
Anyhow, I fixed it for you.
