Interest in Mossberg 590A1 14" or 14" 590A1 CYL/MOD Barrels imported by Irunguns?

Awww darn it! Now SFRC is offering 10% off on this gun! I wish bullseye can price match after the sale.

This is one of the things I feared, as I thought that others would get this firearm as well. Oh well, $60 isn't the end of the world.

I think a Hogue over moulded 12"LOP and fore-grip would look good on the Mossbergs….I'll also have to try my Raptor grip on it.

If I can just chop off the end of the Hogue forend and it'll fit... But I believe you must alter it inside so the action bars fit snug inside. Sounds like too much work for me.

For the next miracle, I'd like to see; Brenneke slugs (Black Magic 3", Special Forces Barrier Penetration, Home Defence).

you can get them from Irunguns american website. just takes a month or so to get in. i got several boxes of black magic on the way.

With complete shotguns becoming available, it's too convenient to buy one and not worry about locating hard to find small pieces to complete a conversion.

That's what I did anyways.

I don't believe SFRC carries the Modified cylinders (Improved only)….worth the extra $$ IMO

Actually looking at the complete short front grip with action bars. Plug and play…..

My "old" 14" Mossberg had gold lettering, an olive tint park finish, speed feed stock and gold bead vs these new offerings.

Unsure if this will lock into place properly as the extra 1.25" will need to fit onto the action bars and be able to travel onto the receiver when pulled back. I might try it but there are a ton of people who complain to Hogue that their overmolded forend doesn't fit the short action bars (6.5-6.75" length).
Pictured is long action bar with Hogue forend above, below is 14" 590A1 with short action bars/forend:

On closer inspection, my new 590A1 has quite a few marks and scratches. Be aware that this finish is easily marred. Also, the bead isn't brass, it's black. Harder to see (my eyes aren't what they used to be) and I will most likely swap it out if I can find a wrench that will fit & a method that will not tear up the parkerizing.

Kind of wished I bought from SFRC and saved the $60 + taxes on one :(

What kind of oil to use on parkerized gun to make the finish look better?

St1264, can you post pictures? I'm hoping that mind has perfect finish or I will be disappointed. Can we just dab the beat with gold or white colour to make it easier to see? Or is that a bad idea?

Any oil will work. Dry parkerizing shows every little scuff and mark. Once it is well oiled most of the little scuffs are unnoticeable. This is just the nature of a parkerized finish. Keep in mind that this is a rough and tumble police shotgun, not a fine sporting gun.

Although that said, I am a little disappointed that it doesn't have a brass bead.

i am too. i hope its just brass painted black lol. otherwise i guess ill paint the black bead white.

Wondering if the mod bore will have a brass bead? For use with longer shots? Anyone have theirs yet?
Replacing the bead with a TRITIUM was a mod previously discussed and planned anyways.

…just a plain black bead on the Mods. $60 bucks is moot when you consider these were going for $1000+ used not too long ago!
Enjoy them guys and don't let the little things and a few scuffs on the park finish ruin it for you. These are SG's…not Rolex's.

Mine has arrived. Well....what can you say of gun that cost $600? The difference of the finish between the two is like day and night when I compare it with my Fabarm STF12.

500. My 500's have way better finish than my 14" 590A1. I guess these were made for durability, not beauty. Oh well, just go beat the sh!t out of them. I'm going to buy a few stocks and see which one I like, then sell the rest on the EE or put them on my 500's. Gave up on a new short action bar forend.

What oil did you use to oil it?

I'm going to keep my fore end the way it is, and there is no way I spend half the cost of this gun to purchase SF or eotech fore end. What light mount options you have in mind?

The only thing that I will upgrade is the stock to SGA and light option.

Regular, cheap CT gun oil and scrubbed it with a clean cloth. Then spread a thin layer on all metal parts. Barrel looks good now and the receiver still has a few flaws but has shined up and looks better than it did.

I'm going to put a shorter LOP stock and a brass bead on it. Anything else is a waste of money, for me anyway (unless the SF forend goes 1/2 price on Boxing Day). Wouldn't mind a light on this but I don't like railed forends digging into my hands.
