Brakes for a norc?

Yikes, I ordered the same brake on Oct 1 and it's just sitting there "Processing". I am trusting that there aren't issues with a bunch without threads.

In any event, slow processing and poor communications make for a poor first impression with Blackrose.

NAh...not too bad, he answered me the same day (yesterday) and apologized. He said he would send one today. Mistakes can be forgiven of course, only lack of accountability and neglecting the customer can not...the brake looks nice and apparently works really well.

I looked for brakes that would fit the norc without the castle nut and blackrose was the only place I found...Dlask dosent list any on their site.

Got mine today from Blackrose Tactical and it too is unthreaded. Not even the most basic QA seems to be undertaken. I emailed with the news and await the resolution.

what the hell!! He must have had a screwed up batch, yours was sent before I told him about mine...but if the replacement is unthreaded then it's pure incompetence...I guess i'll see.

Mistakes happen. In the end it comes to how it is resolved and I will report back.

First World problems............

SEI Navy brake opened up my groups. When I put my old FH back on, the groups shrank back to about 1.5 MOA.

Anyway, who wants to buy SEI product anymore these days after seeing how Ron Smith treats the community.

Tell me about it, I got the replacement but it dosent index, the upper ports are at 90 deg. No way to shim this either because there is no shoulder.

Also the grooves show when the muzzle brake is on so if that bothers you, well now you know.

I don't know if the Loctite will hold due to the heat etc...but apparently it does. if blue doesn't work there is always red..but that's a pain to remove. And if all fails you can probably install a flush screw aligned with one of the grooves.

If you can get the one with the castle nut instead, I personally think it would be better....

The replacement arrived today and all is good. I got very lucky (a 1:10 shot) and the brake lined up perfectly on index when tightened. Added Blue Loctite for good measure.

Really!? Thats disappointing to hear, no signs of bullet strikes inside the brake?

Nope. I had expected great things from this brake and was very surprised. I had thought that the accuracy node merely shifted but after hundred of rounds testing different loads and powders, I removed the brake and hello...groups back to normal. One other person at my range has experienced the same. While I'm not saying that everyone will experience an opening of group size with the SEI brake, my rifle doesn't seem to like them.

Are you shooting irons or scoped?
