223 bullet in 224 barrel.....

Anyone with experience of using 223 bullets in 224 rifles?
This concoctionwould be for plinking.

Would probably be OK for plinking. Make sure the case is holding them firmly.

I would post a WTT ad in the EE and see what happens. I bet they will go fast, I can recall 2 conversations I've had at my range recently over .223 projectiles and the lack of availability. Some guys are just going with 224, others are sizing lead and using gas checks. Jacketed 223 seems scarce.

The yield strength of a bullet is less than 20,000 psi. You hit it in the azz with 50,000 psi. Trust me, it will fit the bore.

But the pre-war Hornets are 223 and some guys prefer them. Go play "Let's Make a Deal".
