How long has the FN FS2000 been out of production? I'm pretty disappointed i didn't get a chance at one of these...

From what I've read in US forums they have been discontinued for more than a year, but will be back into production next year. Their rarity has made them more popular--I've had two unsolicited requests to sell mine recently.

Haha you too eh? :) I've had mine for so long it doesn't even feel 'unique' anymore... but anyone who holds it the first time is impressed.

Americans have a habit of thinking the world ends at their border. In fact if you look hard enough you will find plenty of posts that claim the HK USC and SL8 are discontinued as far back as 12 years ago. Sure the American production runs may have ended but when presented with the fact that German production continues the usual American view is denial and absolute end of all production, even in Germany. I am sure the FS 2000 is still in production. Just don't let the friends down south rattle you.

The SL8 and USC were never made in the US. They were imported until they stopped production in Germany. The SL8 in 2011 and the USC last year. HK has a long history of saying that a product will be discontinued and yet still producing them. For example the MK23. Its not denial when the word is straight from the manufacturer that is product is being discontinued, even if it is wrong info.

Anyways, the FS2000 was put on the back burner so FNH can push SCARs. But alot of new bullpups on the market and needing a entry level rifle might make FNH bring out the FS2000 again.

My bad. I realize that I made that sound like they were made in the states. What I meant to say was the rifles made for the USA. Oh and the SL8 and USC are still in production.

The SL8 has been replaced by the HK243 to my knowledge. Very difficult to tell whats coming and going from HK because they give bad info.

The FN 2000 is dead. The Belgian military is going SCAR-L, and FN is submitting the SCAR to the French solicitation. FN is happily selling SCARs in the US, there is no reason to re-setup for FN2000 which is a purely civilian venture now.

I personally don't think it will come back to production.

Early 2013 they went offline, but the FNH reps have been back and forth if they would be releasing them again. I've heard from FN both "yes" and "no"; "yes" in early 2015 they'll be back since Scar production is caught up again, and "no" they won't (no reason listed).

Stryker on the FN forums heard they were coming in 2015 again, but MAC is saying they aren't -- though he is using vague information (ie. I heard from the internet & CDNN was selling them cheap -- even though CDNN has been selling them cheap since late 2011 with the overstock 9000 series).

Hard to say -- guess we'll see next year!

Yep, pretty soon the F2000 and FS2000 will be a forgotten weapon.
