3 Gun Nation event - Mark the date!!! November 8, 2014

I want to say Thanks to the guys at EESA for todays 3 gun match, As what can go wrong did go wrong . But its still a good day when you can be out shooting . Looking foward too the next one .

What a match...................thanks to all who came to lend a hand and those hardy folks who stayed to help us tear down.

Needless to say this match did not go as planned, between CFO shenanigans and HORRIBLE weather I am toast.

Lonedrone says to kick him if he ever mentions holding another November match! I think there will be a line up!

But it does go to show what great folks all the competitors are....................next time I might even fire a shot!

I will second stormbringers thanks to all who braved the weather and hung in there to the end of the match.
It was definitely not as smooth a day as I had hoped, but some learning points for future NON-NOVEMBER matches!!!

Storm and I will be getting to the results tomorrow likely, as we are too numb fingered and frozen brained to get it together tonight. If you were at the match and HAVE NOT sent me your email address please email md3gun@hotmail.com to ensure that you get the results sent to you.

As to the CFO shenanigans, it related to new rules on shrouding that state all pistol and rifle steel must be shrouded in such a manner that the coving is tied into a berm and much more substantial than the traditional 2x6 A-frame planks we have traditionally used in our matches at EESA. As we received the details of this new "recommendation" on friday at about noon, it meant that a good portion of the set up for the match was delayed until this morning and several stages had to be scrapped/replaced or significantly altered to meet these criteria.

Needless to say, it made for a rough evening and difficult start to the day today. Then the weather didn't help (much as I'd like to blame the CFO for that...).

These are issues that all clubs will face and any outdoor action shooting sports that use steel, so I would encourage all clubs to make some noise with their club executives to address these problems, as well as talk to your MP's and MPP's about the baseless reasons being put forward (ie, "this is what we want, who needs evidence for it") to see if we can squash this before it becomes too ingrained.

Again, thanks to all the competitors for showing up and I look forward to seeing you all at the next match!!

The competitors were hardy but the match organizers were even hardier! A job well done to all the guys involved. some very interesting stages I would love to shoot in balmier weather.

Oh ya - John - thanks for the pen.

Match volunteers are to be commended for sure...it was a miserable rainy day and seeing the plastic bags sticking out of Stormbringer's boots said it all ;)

For future events it might be worth considering reducing the number of stages or number of shooters (or both). Even under the very best of conditions with double the number of volunteers, running 7 stages for that many shooters is a daunting task and is bound to cause frustration in volunteers and competitors alike.

Thanks to all the volunteers and match organizers. Even if we dident get to shoot the entire match it was a "learning" experience ;p cant wait for next season when its nice and sunny. :)

some how I made it from Toronto to home in 2.5 hrs.......lol good time even if the weather and my shotgun sucked lol

I think its Time to fix our steel problem with the cfo for once and for all
