boyds 10/ 22 stock

the barrel and receiver rocks back and forth a bit in the stock. Would a longer takedown screw solve this ? If so where would I get one?

In the case of another rifle, the takedown screw ordered from Boyds was too long so I needed to cut it down to size because it was bottoming out before reaching the stock.

you can order hex head ones from Dlask.
or you can maybe pop out the one on the Boyd and put on your original?
or cut it down a bit, though i know how i am with a hack saw so that would be my last resort.

nice looking stock bro!

can you take a couple more pics from a couple different angles for us?
like top looking down, bottom looking up and other side.
also from the butt forward and the barrel back?

im interested to see how wide the stock is.

I put some washers on the takedown screw and now everything is tight with no wobble. So thanks tratserif you were correct the screw was bottoming out before engaging the stock.

I'm happy it worked out for you :) I was a bit more anal, so I measured how much extra slack there was, lopped off a bit, cleaned up the treads on the beltsander and chased'em with the die.. Worked like a charm even if it involved 10 extra minutes.. Then again, I've been fortunate to have accumulated a good number of tools over the years :)
