I just got a cz75 (not B) that was made in czechoslovakia. it came with 4 mags and i test fired two mags ( needs a recoil spring i think) and it seemed to run fine. how much would a reasonable price be? ( ambi slide release/safety, adjustable rear sights)

I don't think that the original CZ75s came with either an ambi slide release or adjustable sights-- so they're probably aftermarket. That'd lower the collector value for anyone looking for an all-original model.

I see them sit on the EE for $500, so I'd suggest less than that...

They're not super popular as current production CZ75B mags don't fit...

I've been buying part number 'ACZ75MAG9' (CZ75 Mag 9mm) from CRAFM and they work great in my Pre-B 75...have never tried the mags that came with it in a newer gun though.

dont really care about collector value, im a lefty anyway, i bought it cause its a good first 9mm pistol to own and practice on with before i get into IPSC. And my buddy has the .22 kadet upper kit so i can borrow it from him to plink. i plan on getting a sp01 shadow or shadowline in the future so ill already have 4 mags to start :). Glad to know it was a good deal. it needs a new recoil spring, maybe get some better aftermarket parts in there.

That's cool. My first centrefire semi was a CZ75 with the enamel finish back in the mid 1980s (it was 1985, and I paid $450)...I didn't much care for it at the time and sold it a few years later, but realize now that they were a real classic Cold War-era pistol. What finish does yours have? In addition to the enamel I know some of the earlier ones were polished and blued and some later ones were either matte blued or parkerized.

Are the original owner? If not, the previous owner may have filed down the bit inside that makes current CZ75 mags not fit a pre-B.

cant remember, i only shot two mags out of it. ill take pictures this weekend and post em up here.

You may want to slug the bore - some of those guns came with slightly large barrels, and reloading for it with 38 special bullets may be necessary to get the accuracy the gun is capable of.
o_O , it shot fine with factory 9mm ammo.

I bought my 1984 off the original owner ( a collector) around 1990..I have owned since fired 1000s, (maybe 10s of 1000s) on the original spring set and barrel. Still shoots palm sized groups, cycles anything, great trigger, could drive a tent peg into clay if required.

There are far more interesting guns out there and in my collection but this was my first and still favorite pistol.

actually just found out its a cz85!( which explains the ambi controls) thats made in czechoslovakia, it has a 75 slide on it ( not sure why he put a 75 slide on it). anyways just to point that out. still getting it as it shoots great and its a good deal!. will post pics when i get the paperwork for it this saturday.

Good for you. You got a bonus ambi control. I passed on a pre-B CZ75 2 years ago. It was in extremely excellent shape with 4 mags sold within minutes of posting for $ 250 in our club. As I was reading the posting, 4 mags costs almost $ 200, and you get a bonus pistol. I almost banged my head against the wall when I saw another shooter paying for the pistol. The same guy eventually traded it off for a CZ 97. The best thing a pre-B can offer is the short reset. It has a better trigger than current models. But since it sits on a CZ 85 frame, I hope this frame has the same disconnect so you can enjoy the short reset of the trigger.

Safe shooting!

spent the whole day shooting the gun, i noticed one problem, occasionally the slidestop will engage on its own causing the next round to not chamber. would a new slide stop fix this problem?

I've been wondering if there are enough differences between the 75 and 85 that might cause this.

i dont think the 75 slide is too much of a difference to work on a 85 frame, i tried the KADET .22 conversion kit, (not KADET 2 which comes with its own slide stop). it ran fine except it didnt hold open on the last shot.

i also tried new recoil springs from 15lbs -18lbs and it did not change anything. if i used my thumb to hold down the slide stop then it would run fine ( would close on last shot due to me holding slide stop down).

edit: looking for new slide stops both left and right and spring for this gun.. no one has it :(

Hey serbinator if you can't fix the problem contact Rodger at Dark International . he is the club gunsmith at the Burlington rifle and revolver club and he's well versed on the CZ 75 pistols and alot of other guns.
