Hi all ... I am returning to the sport after a bunch of years off ... I have been accumulating a few new guns and having a blast trying them all out ... P226 (9mm and .40), Beretta 92A1, Jericho .40, Sig 1911 SS Target, etc ...

My problem is trying to get parts and accessories.

I innocently and naively ordered a couple of things off ebay ... but when I went down to pick them up (again naively) I honestly told the US Customs Inspector what I was going down for ... well, all that got me was a half hour of sitting inside answering questions ... and return shipping hassle and costs ... and another half hour to prove I had done that ... great fun for an honest mistake ...

Anyways, when I had tried many of the Canadian dealers no one seemed to have anything I'm looking for ...

I've tried posting on the EE and other sites Classifieds but to no avail ...

Presently what I am after is a set of rosewood grips for one of my 226's as well as a pair of #10 rear sights (so I can shoot 6 o'clock rather than combat) ... and for the life of me can not find either anywhere in Canada.

Of course there is no end of this stuff on the US sites but nothing here in Canada ...

So ... what do you all do? Where have you found the best availability in Canada?

Any other strategies?

Thanks for the help!

You can buy stuff off eBay and get it shipped to your door IF the seller is international. There are US export laws (ITAR) that stop you from getting stuff out of the states, not Canadian import laws. As long as whatever you are buying is legal in Canada of course (ie no over capacity magazines or supressors)

I seen a set of rosewood's for the P226 at williamsarms(port perry, Ontario), you'd have to call to see if they're still in stock. I think they were $120. Expensive but beautiful.

Also try ordering from Questar and using your LGS you can order through Mdcharlton(Sig distributor). Both are in Ontario.

Good luck,

RM

anywhere online/offline, excpet States due to the export law. it's much easier to shop around good deals and find the parts that are in stock. this site(the sponsors) and google is your best friend. so far all my shopping, guns and ammos are all done online. didn't even have to step out my home one step and I got everything I want at the right price with NO paperwork/ATT hassle. :)

I order from the USA, but before check with the vendor if e ship to Canada. If it's over 100$ I'll have papers do to, but generally under 100$ everything is ok. It's very easy with brownells, they have a tutorial on importing stuff over 100$ and under 500$. You can also split the orders to keep it under the limit.

IF you want to keep it more simple, the easiest way is to browse the sponsors here and if you can't find what you are looking for, ask them to order it for you ;)
