What your furthest pistol shot?

100 yards using a 4-ish inch ruger vaquero. You can guess this is a side match for cowboy action. I used full power 38 spl rounds on this stage as opposed to my regular 75% rounds.

I have the crest for getting five consecutive rams at 200 metres in big pistol silhouette competitions. I was using a Ruger Super Blackhawk, 44 magnum.

800 Meters. That's how far the 40 or so bullets traveled before hitting the back stop after missing my target set at the 50 meter mark.

Just hit a steel 12x12 plate this afternoon from 75 yards with my Beretta 92 firing reloads. Did it 4 times out of a full mag. Surprised the heck out of me and my shooting buddy.

1 litre plastic oil can at 100 yards twice with a Colt Python many years ago. first time it was broadside, second time it was skinny side. first shot each time. I could never repeat that performance in a thousand years.

Same gong - Tokarev twice, and with my SAM omega .40 cal once. I have witnesses, but it took more than 20 shots, lol.

I actually hit the frame of the gong 2x during that string but it doesn't count as gong hit! S&W beats Tok I guess! ;)
Oh yeah, I was aiming at the berm about 5 ft above the gong but dead in line windage wise with the .40.
It's difficult but not impossible to do. Easier with a spotter with binocs who can call your dust cloud and " walk" you onto the target.

So for 9mm, how high do you aim to hit the target at 100m?

I would start at 2 ft above the target and adjust from there. It's all trial and error! Like I said, get a spotter with good binocs. When shooting at that range, you can't see your target as your gun covers it so you need someone to tell you where you've hit. With the gun covering your target and recovering from the recoil, it's really hard to see where the bullet hits on your own.

I just hold pretty much on the target at 100 yards seems to work just fine.....if anything maybe high on the target but still on target.
9mm or .22lr doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference. Our 100 yard range has a dirt bank behind it which makes it easier to spot shots that miss the plates.
