I have read allot of good stuff about both guns. The Mossberg 500 with Woodstock and 2 barrels is the same price as the Winchester with synthetic stock. They will both come to the same price...I have seen and handled both. My biggest worry is finding parks for the Winchester. What do you guys think?

As a lefty I would go for the mossberg. I like wood better to, I own the 590a1 and it eats everything no matter how bad I treat it. My friends got the winchester and says he likes it too though

I have both, love both.
Had issues though with Winchester with warranty issues, camo finish peeled the first weekdnd. Winchester Canada replied with "well sir, it will peel eventually" and then never replied to my email with pictures I sent the gunsmith.

Mossberg has a 10 year warranty and they have been great.

Too bad, if iy weren't for the warranty issue the SXP might be z better gun.

I have both new and old models of each. Mossberg quality has been basically the same except the plastic pump grips.
The new Winchester is a step down quality wise in my opinion.

Winchester doesn't have rattle of the Mossberg.

They are both good servicable shotguns.....but since the mossberg has two barrels , it will give you more options for use....go with the mossberg....

I have had both but being a lefty I put my SPX with wood stocks on the EE. I couldn't get used to the safety in front of the trigger guard, not lefty friendly. The SPX is a quick action though.

Thanks for letting me know about your experience this the warrenty department. I hate when companys don't stand behind there product. I never knew the 500 had 10 year warrenty. I thought it was only the 590. I was accualy about to get a benelli but everything for it is to expensive so I am looking at more common guns with barrel combos.

I have both the SXP and an Mossberg 500. The build quality on the SXP is leaps and bounds better than the Mossberg. The Mossberg feels cheap in your hands after handling both but this could be attributed to the floppy forend. Action wise? I've yet to handle any pump shot gun as smooth as the SXP. I have a waterfowl camo model and haven't had an issue with the finish wearing off but I think I'd prefer the field and camp combo. Both guns will give you many years of service.

Read good things about both. Probably would own a mossberg if the barrel was not ported.
Play with them both and go with the one that fits better.

Yes older ones are superior but for a cheap shotgun the sxp is awesome. Can't add many accessories but what do you really need when it comes to 12 guages? I put on a light-laser on the thing because of bears coming into my place but other then that I would leave it stock.

I have the sxp in the synthetic black, absolutely love it. I have put about 2000 rounds through it with out a misfire in jam or any sort of problem. The only issue I had with the gun was the magazine cap cracked but had no issues with winchester having it replaced, one phone call and it was in the mail

Who did you call? Winchester USZ or Canada?
Could you PM me the number. I have a few issues with mine still.
