SVT 40 and after market accessories.

The honest and simple answer is no. Scattered scope mount here and there, but that's it.
I believe it comes down to the fact that there are few SVT's in the US. Therefore American companies haven't bothered to make any accessories. And there are more profitable things for Canadian companies to be producing.

^^^This, that being said the only thing I'd want is a scout mount for a red dot as the stock scope and repro mount is the only scope I'd want on an svt. I'm glad you can't buy a tactical stock for an svt, I'd shed a tear if I saw a bubba'd up tac'd out svt lol.
 
I've been looking at paying a local gunsmith to make a custom stock for one, but short of doing that or doing the work yourself, there isn't a ton of things you can do. I love my SVT, just wish the stock was more agreeable with me.
 
Yeah just a nicer more modern shaped sniper stock at least, wood would be fine. There is a stock you can get for the m305 that comes to mind... I just don't like it when wood covers too much of the barrel length. It drives me nuts.
 
At one point we had prototype Dragunow style stock set ready for production. In about 20 minutes one could convert SVT 40 to dragunow look alike with folding AR 15 stock tube for stock option and dragunow/svd scope rail for optics.No permanent alterations to the rifle were needed. So anytime it could be converted back to Original configuration. Whole system looked super and worked perfect 2 points which made us never put it into production was:

1. Price
2. Its weight

Only aftermarket part we have for SVT 40 is Picantini Scope mount

I don't think they make a lot of tactico garbage for garands either. Or johnsons, arisakas, m1 carbines, etc. I'd like to think it's becauseost people have the sense to leave them the hell alone and appreciate them for what they are. Want To piut ar stuff on a rifle? Go buy an ar!

I figure it's your rifle... you "could" do what you want with it but... jeez louise, we're talking about wanting to butcher an SVT-40 !!!

If you want to destroy something historical then destroy a Mosin Nagant... the Russians/Soviets produced over 7 million of those... but only 1.6 million SVT-40s.
 
I never quite get the big deal about mods on these rifles. If its not permanent. I've had SKSs that I've change the stock on put scope mounts on and when i got tired of it I put them back to original
What's the big deal? Now when I see people putting longer barrels on lugers so they can get them out of the prohibited class that pissess me off. Maybe that's just me.
I would be curious to see if someone could build a stock for the svt that would support the action and barrel better and improve the accuracy. Its my understanding that action flex causes a lot of the accuracy problems. But I could b wrong.
