Has anyone yet acquired a picatinny rail for the savage B mag (17 WSM) ?

I know there is some site vendors that carry EGW, and I've contacted one but no one seems to have them in stock, any suggestions?

Oh, I didn't think I could.

Just went to checkout with (FRAUD ALERT), $76.49 with shipping, pfft, anyone else local for less?

$77 is not bad for a picatinny rail...
Its $40 + $37 for shipping, which seems alot for shippin but...

You may find one locally for around $60-65 + $10-15 for shipping.

Specially when Brownells sells them cheaper and with 10.95 shipping.....

Yes that's a good option if they have it.

Another option is maybe Jerry at Mystic Precision. His bipod is now manufactured by EGW so i'm sure he can have picatinny rails from them..

I actually looked at their product and tried to order a while back, I like that they have a bit of a cutout for shell extraction, but unfortunately, they don't ship to canada or have a canadian distributor, I emailed them.

I will have a look at kinney's website tomorrow and see if they ship to canada, thanks for the links thus far guys.

I should mention, the reason why I want a picatinny rail over the factory mounts is I'm putting a millet LRS, and have the Vector low mounts which use the picattiny rails, the factory ones are the weaver rails which have a narrower notch for the cross bolt (they wont fit), and finding 35mm low mount rings for this with the narrower crossbolt certainly wont be any easier.

Peter from Hirsch emailed me back, just waiting to hear shipped price, he says it's about two week order time, I'll probably go that route, but I'll update the thread for those also looking.

EDIT: Hirsch sells them for $47+3 taxes +14 S&H, I'm gonna go that route.

So, still haven't heard back from Hirsch, emailed on October 14th and they said two weeks, emailed about two weeks ago and they said they will get back to me, which brings me to my next question to the forum:

If I have an issue, or rather a poor customer/sales experience with a site sponsor/vendor, and would like to offer constructive criticsm by making a thread talking about what makes a good customer experience and how to conduct good communication, where and how should I create a thread about this (my intent is to create a civil thread to show what is good, and what is poor communication for consumers and vendors), where can I do this where I can make a thread that folks would appreciate it "stickied" as opposed to "locked"?

Thanks.

Man, good luck. There is so much pressure on small businesses these days to be perfect, any little slip-up and they get publicly slammed. The old ideal of customer service is so hard to achieve these days. When you have to compete with box stores on price, but your customers are coming to you because they know they get jack for service at box stores, its hard to keep everything in line. Doing the job right often means charging more (customers shop elsewhere), or hiring more staff (you go broke and can't pay yourself). I suggest contacting them, being patient, and trying to understand the big picture.

Yeah, I get that, my intent isn't to slam Hirsch, they actually just got back to me this morning and I sent them money to ship it.

My point is that it took 14 emails to accomplish this, we the consumers, and the vendors that support the community may benefit from having a critical look at how we communicate, as they say, the amount of time taken to plan your communication is inversely proportional to how much time it takes to effectively communicate your message, sometimes we just need to slow down and focus on everything we need to do one thing at a time.

I'll leave it at that,

Curious - how many times did you phone? As much as email is a great modern convenience, it is a poor form of communication at times - all too easy for an email to get deleted or flagged as spam. Not making excuses, just looking at angles.
