Sks back on canadian tire shelves

The rcmp letter, or what ever you call it, didn't mention the type of firing pin or offer any explanation of how the gun can malfunction in the manner of concern. They were either playing dumb or they really don't know anything about the rifle and do not have the competence to figure it out.

Well the could tell the difference between early and late style trigger groups and essentially wanted people to hold the trigger while cycling the bolt to check for a hammer follow.

I suspect that some time in the mists of time, some Soviet armourer was looking at how to extend the life of the SKS and built a full auto trigger group. Not being able to figure out how to make it selective fire, put it back on the shelf were it was never issued again.

They never left the shelves in Alberta.

WRONG!
They sure DID leave the shelves in Alberta. Absolutely they did.
Apparently though, if a store had some already put into Tapco or Ati or other stocks, that gun now had a different SKU so it was "immune" to the STOP SALE order.
But they definitely DID pull SKSs from the Alberta CT stores. It was not a provincial thing. It was ALL CanadianTires.

No. No they didn't. When the furor hit the fan in Ontario, they were still on the shelves at CT in Leduc. Through the whole fiasco, they were on the shelf. I was there through the 3 weeks of the story. They were there!

But whatever! Not worth the argument.

Just so you're aware, Alberta doesn't end at Leduc's town limits. In Whitecourt (still in Alberta) they did indeed take their SKS's off the shelf.

20" barrel yo

(5 seconds on Google could have told you that!!!) OR that fact that there are 10,000s of them in country. There IS a shorter barreled model, it is Chinese and called The Cowboy's Companion or the Paratrooper Model with a 16.5" barrel...but it is both rare and more $$$...and even then it is RESTRICTED, not prohib, yo.
