Hey Gunnutz just looking for some insight on my first AR build. Got a DD Mk18 and and I need to get a sling for it. Put about 400 rounds through it and I don't want to wait any longer. Just curious as to what I should get for sling mounts to work with this gun and a sling. I want a 1 point / 2 point sling, what is the best bang for your buck. I would post a pic of it so far but am still unsure how to do so. Any other upgrades that are good to do as well. Thanks

I like the MS3 personally, have it on QD's on the stock and the front of the rail. It can quickly go to a single point as well, however in my setup it's not so good, as I'm attached right on the end of the buttstock, and the rifle hangs too low.
The current AR I'm building I'm planning to put a loop clip mount on the buffer tube, and attach to the rail using a QD, so sling length won't change with stock adjustment, and the loop mount will serve as a good place to go for 1 point if I want.
Trigger is always a good useable upgrade as well, depends on how much you want to spend.

Movado, I like your set up. Im looking for a sling to mount on my mk18 as well. I have a vtac sling but it's a 2 point with qd connections. My sopmod stock is gen 1 so no qd point. Will a 2 point sling work using the receiver end plate qd and a rail mount qd socket or will it be mounted to far forward and just stick with a 1point? And can the vtac sling be modified using magpul parts to convert to a 1/2 point
Sure the sling will work using the QD end plate, I used to run mine on the end plate it's better for single point but it get in the way once in awhile in 2 points. I rarely use single point and I have the option with my stock so I prefer to run the QD on the opposite side of the stock, the sling never get in the way and it push the rifle closer to the body when slung. The Magpul hardwares should work with the VTAC, I can't see why it shouldn't.
My MK I put a Magpul MS3 Single point sling on it, the. I just bought a Daniel Defense QD sling mount with swivel for my fore end. Done it locks if I don't want to convert from single point to 2 point or vice versa. 80 bucks from Wolverine Supplies
