new rifle

I just bought a new Remington Model 700 Long Range chambered in 25/06. It is the one with the Bell and Carlson Aluminum bedded graphite stock. Does anyone have one of these and if so how does it shoot? I can't wait to load some rounds and get out to the range to see what she's capable of. I'm thinkin' this just might be the ultimate long range varmint/medium game platform.

I want to mount a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5 - 10 X scope on this rifle. What base/ring combination do you recommend? I am leaning towards a Leupold 2 piece base and rings.

I would recommend Dual Dovetail Leupold bases. That was what "guntech" advised when he built my 260 and since then that is what I installed on my 280.
The windage adjustment on the standard Leupold rings loosened on my 300 Win Mag . . . that would not have happened with DD bases.
