Prices for processing a deer??

excellent video and perfect timing, we are going to butcher our buck later this morning. I'll get my sons to watch the video before we start. Thanks for posting.

I hope Brian46 gets to watch this, I'm certain he will find it very educational;)

I used to hang the deer upside down because that's how I saw it done as I was growing up. One day for some reason, young Jr hung the deer with the head up. He seemed to like it better that way for skinning it and has done it that way ever since. I just learned why not to do it that way when watching the video. It will be interesting to see what he says after watching the video this morning. When my wife was still living, it was her job to wipe the hair off the meat. Since she became bed ridden and passed away it became my job. Too late for this deer, but I can tell you one thing, every deer that is to come from this day forth will be hung by the hind legs.

educational in what sense? They guy doing the work stated his experience and showed what he does while taking questions. Does he claim that hanging deer to age does nothing or is wrong, No

does he stress the fact that getting the hide off a-f'en-sap is the thing to do or not for one thing contrary to your method of nonsense?

I think you didn't watch the video. The host calls "the butcher" a pro after he said he wasn't and the "butcher" laughs at him. The "butcher" also says some guys leave the hide on but he likes to take it of because he himself believes there are oils in it.

what nonsense did I post?

If you are looking to save money, take a sharp knife and cut the meat off yourself. Give yourself 2 hours and a cold 6 pack. Cut the meat off the bone, it is a joke.

I totally agree. Buy a vacuum sealer to prevent freezer burn and a grinder too. You'll be saving a ton of money doing it yourself so spend the money and buy good equipment.

Once you start cutting apart an animal it's pretty easy to see where you'll be getting the ground, steak, or roasts from. You'll make bad cuts when learning, but that just means your ground pile will be larger and is no big deal.
