Losing a Deer Tag (Ontario)

I've paid for 2 turkey tags bought over the phone. They didn't arrive on time. I had to drive to 3 cities trying to get replacements and finally found a girl that knew a mnr worker and called her on a personal cell phone for me. My tags were reprinted for $10 each. I signed 4 sheets of paper and got my tags. Missed out on the first 2 days of the season mid June my original tags showed up
I've lost a whole wallet tags licenses everything. In fact I lost the car to. It was a pain in the ass to get copies of everything except my credit card and fac. One call and it was done.
There's loop holes in every system. Don't try to add more bulls hit for honest ethical hunters. If you tag out and still want more meat make a friend and take them out party hunting on their tag

I lost my Antlerless deer tag this year. As the original poster suggested, I entered the draw back in January - February of 2014. I received my tag in July-August-ish. I then put it in a safe place so I would not loose it.

Being forgetful and over 40 I forgot where I put it. On November 3rd I drove up to Barrie to the Service Ontario office and told them I lost my tag. They got me to sign a piece of paper stating that I lost my tag and that I was telling the truth. They then printed me a new replacement tag FOR FREE that did not say copy or replacement nor did it have anything on it stating that it was a replacement.

I left for hunting on November 4th with my replacement tag. On the way up north I blew a fuse on my radio so I stopped and opened my glove box to get a fuse and low a behold there was my original Antlerless tag. Being the honest guy I am, I cut it up and tossed it in the trash at a Tim Horton's.

If I were not honest, I could have easily used my original tag for that hunt and then had the replacement tag to use for bow hunting for the rest of the season.

There are huge flaws with the tag system in Ontario.

The second major flaw is the replacement tag is to be attached with a zip tie. So could easily be reused for a day or 2 following the first kill. Definitely created by someone that sits in an office and does not hunt.

I noticed the same thing. The anterless tag we used was a sticker(obtained in the draw), that would obviously show signs if someone tried to reuse. The buck tags were all made to zip tie. As you said, created by someone who has no clue.
