AA .50 beowulf PISTOL

A.A. has already told Armtac (who is the canadian AA distributor) that they do not want to be involved in Canada's Grey market and that is why Armtac only sells AA mags to those with .50beo guns.

Tempting to buy an upper but just can't justify the cost of the upper and the ammo for a range toy.
I spoke to Armtac about buying or ordering a 19-20 inch barrel and using it to create a non restricted 50B conversion for my ACR but they don't sell the barrels :(

Buy an beo upper from armtac. Buy a pistol marked RRa lower from questar. Register it as RR 50beo pistol. LAR-50B, or made some crap up.

I will tell you what will happen. If you look back we had no mag limits before 92. Then we had 5rds. Then about 10 years ago the 10rd LAR mags came out and we were looked at closely for it but the anti's were still looking at less than the full mags we had so the government let that one slide. Then the .50 Beo mags that allow us upwards of 14 to 18 rds of 223 depending on what type. Anti;s were not happy about that but the government let that slide because again it was not a full capacity mag. BUT if someone puts out a beo pistol mag that will hold all 30rds of 223, there is no way the anti's or the government will let that rest. We will lose them, the beo rifle mags and probably the LAR ones too. They will re-wright the law to do this because there not going to let any full capacity AR mags exist.

Bottom line. Push this and we will burn down the progress we made.

30 rds is not "full" capacity, there are lots of different options on the market that hold more.

The 50 Beo mags that still use the 223 follower are not even reliable when used in a 50 Beo rifle, It is something we only see here because of the capacity laws.

You can register it as a receiver (lower obviously) or as a complete rifle and thus can change between the two. I'm guessing that's what he's suggesting, but really no idea how it would play out.

Somebody have already try that, it went no where, unless you start manufacturing the pistol and the mags to go with it from scratch.

The RCMP lab is anal about a firearm build from scratch versus a firearm that is pieced together from off the shelf parts, same rule applies to magazines as well, that is why you don't see long body LAR-15 mags.

How many Beowulf pistols are registered in Canada, and where can I buy one?

From the criminal code, under "prohibited devices"

3.#(1)#Any cartridge magazine
(a)#that is capable of containing more than five cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed and that is designed or manufactured for use in
(i)#a semi-automatic handgun that is not commonly available in Canada
,
I suspect this is the real reason why it will never happen.

When i first got my rpal and into the ar15 scene, i had no idea between rifle and pistol. So i bought a rra pistol lower from wuestar as it was on sale back then. After that i bought a 18 inch upper, put it on there and register it as a 18inch pistol. They had me measure and create a new frt as there was no 18inch pistol in the system

We made no progress, ,, just grey areas, might as well push. My father came to this country in 1962 because it was free,,.. now alot of the people he came with are moving back home because it is more free,.. it is what it is,,, im sorry but Russia is now what Canada used to be, in freedom of firearms. No point in laying low in hopes the big brother won't notice, they are much more watchfull than you think. I was raised on a farm where i was given a 22 and told to go have fun, i spent afternoons out in a bush by myself or with friends my age learning about nature and self control and safety. These days kids get suspended from school for playing cowboys and indians. Its actually a sad state of affairs, im under 40 and shake my head at what's going on. If you don't stand up and realize spoons don't make people fat than the man will be able to do whatever they want, and you will follow blindly.

To elaborate on that,,, the 22 i was given for a bday present when i was 11 was an Italian 22 bullpup,.. bought from a store legally, ,, they then sent a letter saying it needed to be reclassified as restricted, ,.and we complied... then 3 months later unannounced they showed up at the farm saying the 22 was now prohibited and we had to give it up... with no compensation. ... i still have the letter,.. for a 22,..great free north... yay

gotta love the cgn haters. I swear some people just wait for threads that they can jump on and bash the op. I would also bet those are not the people I see at the range every week.

Who are you talking about? I can't find a reply in this thread where someone is bashing the OP.
It does get tiring when the same or virtually the same thread gets started every week but no one bashed him for it other than the tactical facepalm.

Your post makes no sense. If anything, you're the hater.

Actually "commonly available" is surprisingly generous.

When I was importing my Vz pistol I called the Senior Tech who defined commonly available as including "the use of the internet, a credit card, and Fed-Ex.”

With companies like IrunGuns exclusively focusing on cross border firearms shopping: what is commonly available in the US is commonly available here.
