To shoot milsurp ammo in a 1911, the bullet has to be seated a little deeper.
A 38 Super mag feeds the 7.62 round perfectly.
A stronger hammer spring might be required to ignite milsurp ammo reliably.
For handloading, Berry's plated 110gr M1Carbine bullet is excellent. Also excellent is a 32 cal SWC sized .309.
Advantage of handloading is that a lighter hammer spring can be used,reducing the trigger weight.
25yards - two hands
The powder charge refers to IPP, a non-canister commercial powder. It is similar in speed to Unique.

Result is better than expected
No light strikes, feeding is 100%, extraction 100% as well. Tried Polish and Russian surplus.

Accuracy is good considering quality of the surplus ammo. Barrel is from the US store, I am not sure who sells it in Canada.
I know Numrich sells it, I thought you may got it in Canada.

I use Chip McCormack 38 Super mags. I cannot get milsurp ammo into the magazine. The ammo is too long.
A standard round will just barely fit into the magwell.
If I put a round in the mag it sticks out the end. No way I can load more rounds.
I am wondering if some types of milsurp ammo is shorter than others. Mine measures 2.370". How long is yours?
I got them a while ago. Brain fart, I don't remember the brand and don't recognize the logo
