I just bought a nice used stainless Rossi pump for 250. Its in great shape. Was this a good investment?

That's a nice rifle but I prefer the carbine version which has a 16" barrel

^I do too...but did Rossi make that version? I know Taurus did. Never pined for a .22 like I did that Taurus I handled in a gun shop in the US years ago. Bums me out thinking about it!

I used to feel that way about the Taurus copy of the Winchester 63. Eventually, I bought one, brand new from SIR. Blew up in my face on the 22nd shot that I put through it.

Yep these are both Rossi's. I love this little gun and would happily hoard another.

I bought the gallery carbine back in the early 70's and it is still my "go-to" for woods walks. It has the small, smooth forearm and I think I paid around $95 brand new.
While it is certainly not up to a Winchester in fit and finish, a little tuning resulted in an excellent functioning and handling rifle.
I think that $250ish is not unreasonable for one in VG condition.

Many prefer the rifle over the carbine as the longer sight radius does make a difference in how accurate you can shoot it, the rifle also holds more ammo... each to their own...
