For the few times a year I have to do a transfer versus the great selection of decently priced produce and meat I can get in the grocery store year round, I am glad I live in Ontario. If the OP's sole reason for not seeing value in Ontario is the time it takes to do a transfer, good on them. I have everything I need and more within a 30 minute drive of me including 10 or so ranges, countless stores to buy firearms related stuff and fresh produce and meat all year round.

I didn't come across anything like that while visiting the Niagara area. Mind you, I wasn't really looking for such either.

There's 15 that are within an hour of west niagara where I live. There's even a club in Dunnville I forget the name of.
Stores... along with Cdn Tire and Walmart's there are lots. Lanz, Frontier, BPS, SAIL, Grimsby Tackle, Fishing World, Erie Tracker, Al Simmons...
Lots and lots of places. Like I said as well, better food at much more reasonable prices as well. I will take all of the above for the few extra days of hassle for a restricted transfer.

The Niagara area was a treat to tour. Hated Toronto!
On the other hand, I shouldn't pass judgment. Edmonton isn't the most hospitable place either and it's crime rate probably rivals Toronto these days.

I haven't had a problem with the Ontario CFO when purchasing from a business. They seem to fast track that....I had the transfer and STATT approved once before I got home from the gun shop the same day. I was incredibly surprised!

Umm, I just bought a Ruger on Thursday last week, got a call on Friday (the NEXT day) and it was complete. I also had transfer completed with temporary ATT emailed to the store while I was still there, no wait at all. Haters gotta hate I guess.
From Smithville? I could give a rat's a$$ about how long it takes to get anywhere from the GTA. Where I live I can get to any of those within an hour even with traffic. The furthest one from me in that list is Guelph and to run up Guelph Line from Burlington is easy.
All of the stores I listed are easily reached within an hour.
Nothing too good to be true, unless you live in the GTA which is your own fault and your own problem, not mine.
