Have any of you seen the well airsoft stocks? The pictures above are savage .22's swapped into the stocks, the AICS style is the Well G96 airsoft stock which has an aluminum bedding block, the other is a Well MB05 or 06, these airsoft rifles can be bought for around $140-200 CAD, some folks are pulling the airsoft barreled actions out and selling them to knock around $50 of the total cost off the stock.

Thought I'd post for those that are into finding alternate stock options, I bumped into this while searching for alternates to boyds offerings for the savage B mag. I've been searching for a source for just the G96 style stock but there doesnt seem to be one.

Cody.

I have seen the pics and reports of successful wells stock swaps, but I couldn't find any to try it out myself. If you find a source I might be interested.

there's a few on amazon.ca, search airsoft rifle, Though, there is some indication that the G96 stocks that don't fold wont have the bedding block.

You can order from the states, though there is a problem if it shoots faster then 500 fps, so you will need to talk to the vendor and tell them not to send the barreled action.

Edit: I think Im gonna give airsplat.com a call monday and see if they will ship just the stock.

there's an interesting thread on snipers hide showing the aluminum bedding block etc.

Air soft guns are toys. Parts for 'em are not made for real firearms. Even .22's sooner or later will beat a to rifle stock into mush.

Did you miss or ignore the part about this being for RIMFIRE rifles?!?!?!?

How about the fact that airsoft players will be physically harder on airsoft guns than shooters are on their rimfire rifles?!??!!!

If someone tried to take an airsoft stock and retrofit it to a real .308w action, your point would be plausible for consideration. But in this thread it just shows lack of attention to detail.

Actually some of the airsoft stuff is really well made. The Real sword Ak's had the same wood and many of the same parts as their real steel cousins.

This is the kind of feedback you get from him, I realized a while back not to be bothered by anything he says, if you look through alot his other posts you'll see he's a borderline troll with a few posts that arent to mix things up.

Another gem form the know it all sunray. Seen a few builds on snipers hide. Also think I seen some on rimfire central.

I’ve only read about these strange and mysterious posts, but I’ve never actually seen one out in the wild until now, and I have to say...wow, just wow.

Even .22’s sooner or later will beat a to rifle stock into mush
This coming from a guy preaching “Spelling and grammar count” in his sig line.

Aside from his typo (I think he meant toy rifle stock), I find his statement is unfounded. My buddy’s building one, ordered the chassis from the states, no rifle, just the stock. I picked it up and I have to say those Well’s A/I clones are sturdy as *uck. I seriously doubt if I put my Mark II and ran 100,000 rounds through it, it could tap, let alone “beat” any material away or compromise its structural rigidity.

I don't know much but I have read this....apparently Airsoft rifles experience a "double recoil" that is significantly worse than the single recoil of a .223.
Just saying'!

You should see some of his potentially lethal advice in the reloading forum.

I can't see that, got any info on this, it sound more like an Internet rumour.
I've been looking around for one of these stocks, contacted a bunch of places on the west coast in the states but none of them seem to have one at the moment.

Mister Donut: where did your friend get a hold of the stock, was it folding, and how much did it cost him?

Thanks,

Thanks,

He mentioned a “boneyard”, I guess where airsofters scrap or sell used items. It’s located in the states somewhere and they do ship to Canada. Maybe Airsplat?

Anyway, this A/I stock that he picked up looked just like the one cody c posted, with the aluminum bedding block and everything and it felt more solid than my Boyd’s Tactical stock that came with my Mark II, not that .22lr will affect either in any capacity.

What’s this talk about “double recoil”? Like twice the recoil felt from a .223? I can’t imagine a .22lr giving anyone any felt recoil at all unless you’re a 50 lb child. Haha, and I can’t stop thinking about Sunray’s post about how a .22lr will “beat” the stock into mush. I suppose it could happen over time, sort of like how water can erode rock like the Grand Canyon.

I called them yesterday, they had nothing, called Evike and another site, all had "bone yards" and all were out of parts, as per above, I think he said airsoft had "double recoil" not a .22, which makes even less sense to me, but I don't own one so I'll leave that to opinion until I do.

For a lot of the "airsoft" gear being sold in the US, if you track the point of origin, it's coming out of the same factories as the stuff coming into Canada as Norinco, NCStar, etc., especially when it comes to optics.

The NCStar optics are pretty borderline, IMHO, but they are actually rated for rifles. The "airsoft" designation is just a legal dodge by the Chinese so they can export gun parts to the US (which they're banned from doing). Airsoft = legal, good to go, ship a container. Rifle parts = begone you evil commie b@stiges!!!!

I would be un-surprised to find that some of the "airsoft" polymer stocks are being stamped out in the same factories, with the same materials, as a lot of the Norinco and Dominion Arms rifles.

Yeah, I've seen the same type of rifle branded as ARES, Mauser, UTG, UK something or another, Well, Wellfire or Kevin Well, MARUZEN etc, but I haven't been able to trace to the original factory, they aren't being sold openly on the Chinese market (DX.com, aliexpress etc) as they are on the american market, there is three or four websites that are very similar based off the west US coast, I suspect they may be the same parent company (similar locations, outsourced phone orders, same type of website layout), as for them being produced in the same location as Norinco's I'm doubtful, based on Norinco's website they seem to specialize more in Chinese government issue stuff, and we probably would have seen Norinco rifles sharing the same stocks by now.
