7.62 x 39 NEA AR's

I had a long range day with my NEA 7.62 upper on a Norinco lower and it shot beautifully with surplus Chinese, Romanian and LCW (Ukrainian) was especially good. Groups were same hole at 50 and about 2.5 at 100 (I blame my #### Norinco trigger for this - it's also brand new and pretty stiff). I have a 4x optic.

I'm confident that with some high quality ammo and a good trigger you're looking at 1.5" @ 100.

I had zero malfunctions other than some light strikes with Romanian only - must be extra hard primers. The upper I have seems to be built like a tank. There is a lifetime warranty so I'm not too worried.

Cleanup after the range was similar to any other gun I shoot with corrosive: Boiling water followed by compressed air and, you guessed it: G96. Including the gas tube :)

Yea life time warranty is good but when you are at the range with your buddies and your brand new rifle breaks down because of manufacturer issues not so good and ruins your day.
 
I've got a 2011 5.56 NEA. Several thousand rounds of different ammo . . . 3 or 4 hiccups but I blame them on the lar mags. . . No issues with Pmags . . . I would love a x39 upper and would definitely buy one if I had the moolah!
 
I have to say: The best part of owning this upper is not feeling guilty blasting away for hours.
$220 for 1300 rounds makes my day :)
 
Now if only ARs were not automatically restricted, regardless of barrel length, I might look at getting one of these. My AR15 was my favorite rifle but I ditched my restricted guns in favor of being allowed to shoot in the woods.

Since getting my 1911 back after 3 months without it I realize just how much I missed the thing.

I've got all manner of rifles, but this year I've always had an AR with me, and many times ONLY the AR when I go to the outdoor range. I've not even owned it a year yet. And it has multiplied...

I've not been to a gravel pit in 2 years and I really don't miss fretting over whether I'll have a flat tyre the day after, or have someone shooting across my line of fire, or popping their fool head over the backstop.

There was a bad batch of bolts a while ago...like a year and a half ago maybe. It was probably one of them. It's why NEA started marking their own bolts.
