hahaha, nice!
I have a T97, my brother has a Tavor. I'm familiar with both via shooting, cleaning and stripping.
The T97 is so simple. It's literally 27 pieces, and can be broken down and field stripped while at the range if need be. Which is a good thing, because my T97 has had some growing pains along the way. After a few hundred rounds it shoots awesome now, and more importantly it's a lot of fun to shoot. I have an FTU and Bushnell AR223 optic on it and regularly hit within 1.5" at 100 yards. I trust it to take down a coyote if need be, and I can throw it in the back of my Rzr without worrying about it getting dirty. It may have 2-3 FTF per 100 rds, but at the end of the day it's a toy, not a battle rifle. If I FTF at the range, it's not a big deal. I fill a bunch of ACR mags and shoot until the barrel is red hot
The Tavor is a piece of engineering. It's intricate, well built, and well designed. It's worth the additional cash if you have it. At the time I bought my T97, I also snagged a couple other guns. If I knew then what I know now I would have grabbed an FDE Tavor and called it a day.
So the question is, do I dislike my T97?
Not at all. For around $1550 I got a cool looking gun, rail and optic that shoots well, fits my body and shooting style, and is strong enough to get bumped around in the back country. Something I may not do with a Tavor.
Either way you go, you won't be upset.
