I just bought a Cx4 non-restricted the other day, and was wondering what's out there for accessories. I really want a barrel shroud (you know, that shoulder thing that goes up). I've looked around on some of our sponsors web sites, but found nothing. Is this something I'll have to get custom made?
I'm also wondering what .40 cal mags your using in your 9mm Storm. As I understand its the same one for the Beretta 92 .40cal? I've been having a hard time finding those too. I checked the forum sponsors that I usually shop at, but I didn't turn up much.

Pretty excited to get this thing out. I use to have a replica Cx4 .177 pellet gun. That was a lot of fun, and I always wanted the real one. And as I suspected, the real Cx4 dose seem a little cooler.

So is there anything I should know about it? Ammo that shoots well, what mags work best, run it wet/dry, ect?

I just picked up my CX4 last week. For accessories I purchased a TRS-25 red dot and UTG riser as well as a Moerse Lekker shroud. They have a ventilated and non ventilated version plus they ship to Canada. A google search will tell you these shrouds are very popular and good quality. Mine should be here soon.

In case you haven't seen it, this thread may give you more ideas:

As for mags, I ordered some Beretta 96 10 rounders.

Not really planning on hanging a bunch of crap off my rifle. Just a red dot, wml, and I think a barrel shroud is an absolute must on the non-restricted cx4.

Thanks, I'll check out Moerse Lekker to see what they got. I'm going to have to give that thread a read too.

I was about to order a shroud, but just I'm not sure how I'm going to like the way it looks. Those are intended for a 16" barrel, no?
Do you think that might look funny?

Also, are the 96 mags differnt than the 92?

I bought my .40 cal mags from Armi Brignoli... honestly, their customer service sucked when I was inquiring about a late shipment. They are genuine Beretta 96 mags, and they function flawlessly and legally with 14 rounds of 9mm. Oh yes... ;)

However, I did get what I paid for, turns out it was held up at Customs, but Armi Brignoli wouldn't/couldn't help me out or give me any tracking information.

Ammo... well 115 gr Barnaul runs fine, although I could feel hot flecks of something hitting me in the face, probably powder/carbon. And it smells funny.

147 gr Winchester and American Eagle flat point runs fine as well, and I believe it was still subsonic, although I need to verify with a chrony next time, but I couldn't hear a crack with ear pro in.

96 mags are very similar to the 92 mags... but they are .40 cal.

.40 cal = 96 series pistol
9mm = 92 series pistol

Same gun, different calibre. the 96 series mags work perfectly in 9mm CX4s.

Ahhhh, I see. So my rifle came with 92 mags. 96 mags have + 4 fun.
So, can you see any difference between the two other than one is stamped .40?

The rounds appear to sit *slightly* higher in the .40 cal mags... very slightly! Not even sure if it's an optical illusion or not.

The follower appears to be slightly different in the .40 cal mags as well, the relief cut where the first inserted (last fired) round sits appears to be slightly larger than the 9mm ones. Again, might just be my perception of it.

Other than that there is a little bit of a difference in the way they are contoured on the side, and the round count indicator holes on the back are different, but I can't see either of those items affecting functionality.

9mm/92 series: 4/7/10 round indicator holes in the back.
.40s&w/96 series: 5/10 round indicator holes in the back.

I did see some reports of people having problems with the bolt locking back with 1 round left in the mag on the 96 series mags in a 9mm CX4, but I had no such problems with my gun/mags/ammo.

I did some digging around, and found that you can order the Beretta barrel shroud from Optics planet. So I placed a order for one today. I just hope it dosent make my rifle too much longer.
I'm goona try a few local dealers tomorrow to see if I can find some 96 mags. Hoping I can find some that are cheaper than $75 a mag. Seriously, why are beretta mags so dam expensive?
Anybody know where to find stock spacers? And did yours come with one? Mind didn't.

Did you get a shipping confirmation from Optics Planet? They have a habit of processing the order and then later telling you they can't ship the item to Canada. And I don't mean just the obvious stuff.

Order confirmation. Then I got a second email asking me to approve an extra shipping charge, because of me being in another country.
Then I chatted online with someone at optics planet to confirm the shipping charge. Then I was told its taken care of and will be shipped ASAP.
Man, you got me worried now. I really hope they don't change their mind.

You are probably fine... just stay on top of it. This was quite awhile ago and after 3 strikes I went elsewhere.
