What to expect from super short barrel PDW type ARs?

The PDW I want to build, I'm not even going with a rail, and figured what brake I want to run, The Rainer Mini Comp.

I had a 6.5 build a few months back. I used an Allen Gunworks linear and it was very nice to shoot.
The guy I sold the barrel to also bought my Rainier Arms mini comp, I warned him that it was ok on my 14.5 inch and was downright uncomfortable on my 12 inch and that it would be ridiculous on the 6.5, he still wanted it but I'm sure if he still has that barrel he's changed it out by now.
I've never understood why some guys want to be as loud and obnoxious as possible. I like to enjoy my day, not go home with a headache.
To each their own I guess but pissing off all the other shooters doesn't give people a positive impression of black rifles.

The 6.5 ran perfectly with a spikes heavy bufffer and FA BCG. Was also able to get around 2 moa at 100 yards as well with quality ammo.

I think I'm going to build one of these next. My youngest daughter likes my AR's but they're all a little too front heavy for her. I'm thinking aside from the noise a 7.5 barrel and a smaller diameter hand guard would be perfect.

Probably one of the coolest PDWs I've seen here on CGN (not mine). If the owner is still here, I'd like to pick their brain on this one

Not too bad. Lose the NEA lower for a Noveske or Vltor. Swap the railed hand guard out for a Troy TRX or a Noveske NSR. Drop the flashlight, laser, and AFG altogether. Perfect!

Why ditch the lower? If it's working it's fine, spending 3 times the money on a lower isn't going to make the rifle any more reliable or shoot any straighter. If that lower was built to proper specs it will be fine.
I agree with the rest though, ditch all the trinkets that do nothing but add weight.
Civilian AR's don't need all that crap and that forend is too short for an AFG to be comfortable, I've quit using them completely on all my rifles.
Also swap out the BAD lever for a Phase5 EBR-2. The BAD is the worst thing to ever come out of the Magpul factory.

Well that's a little extreme... The Phase 5 piece is better, sure. But the B.A.D is still very effective.
