S&W Model 17?

BC, unless your dead set on the SP 101 in 22 you probably won't be happy. Trigger is nasty and the spring kit really doesn't help a lot. And i've seen timing issues in 2 right out of the box (returned on warranty)

If you can find an old smith kit gun, it's nicer if it's a small frame your looking for.

IMHO....or just stick with the 17's, you'll never top em :)

food for thought...........

If you own revolvers already then stay away from the 10 shot, the trigger pull feels a lot different between a 6 and 10 shot revolver due to the shorter arm throw to turn the cylinder, if you shoot single action then disregard.........but......

I have a 617 6 shot, it feels, handles and shoots just the same as my model 14, triggers are almost identical and if I was blindfolded I wouldn't know which one I was shooting until I felt the recoil, both have Hogue grips and both feel warm and fuzzy in the cold weather.

I like the 617 because I don't have to clean it as often on the outside, wipe it down with a rag soaked in diesel and good to go.............a lot people don't like the smell of my guns, and I don't have to share them........and those that touch things they shouldn't get to live with the smell for a long time............hehehehe...........

I have an older 17-2 and 14-3 both with target triggers and hammers which are 40yrs still going and still shooting better than I can.
Quality guns that still shoot small groups.

I am going to have to check my numbers..........sounds like we have brothers and sisters........what run is your smith model 52 from???
