best "tactical" scope for the M305/M1A?

thanks - home brew. Did it when I was off from shoulder surgery. I went with dessert camo on the Mcmillan stock. Eventually this USGI stock will make it back to EE. Still have to post it on the build page with the specs

I tried a burris elite 1 x 6.5. I do not trust the scope because I have little practice with it. You have to place your head and eye at the same place to keep the zero. I also had ejection problems. Took it down while hunting and shot my deer with the iron sights. If anyone knows a good scope mount, please contact me. I was thinking about a red dot scout position or scout scope.

that IS a nice scope, but WOW...pricey!!!

Consider the SHG from M14.ca
It's light, and it keeps the optic nice & low.
