Running an SKS the Jerry Miculek way

It was posted a year ago... doubt I can find it.

Back to the subject at hand. This video again proves those who complain about the SKS are, well... A bad shot. I didn't hear Jerry complain about the short LOP or the sights. And he did just fine with the crappy trigger.

Shooters like him can shoot just about anything...

My first SKS is similar to his. I note he took his bayonet off, too.

Never knew a SKS could be loaded from the bottom. That would be handy for a scoped rifle.

The zip tie as a flag is a good idea, too.

And a Chinese pressed and pinned barrel :) So that makes the Chinese vs Soviet SKS debate moot in terms of combat accuracy.

Bottom loading is neat, but you need to close the bolt first, which is why he uses the zip flag. For safety, because he closes the action in order to bottom load.

Another interesting thing I noted was how he always drops the magazine to close the action, instead of that awkward "finger pushing the follower down to let it past" thing that I always do... Cool video for sure. Jerry can shoot anything!

You do that? Only time I touch the bolt catch is to prop it up from the bottom when I want the bolt to stay open before can load a detachable mag.
When using a fixed box mag, I always dump the mag release latch to close the bolt. Thought everyone did actually...

Yep, I'm a pretty decent shot, not as good as this guy, but pretty good and I can attest to having bought two SKS rifles in the past year and a half and both were great out of the crate. Great rifles for great prices.. love the 762 x 39 round too

He mentions in another video both his chinese sks's are threaded barrels as they are older before they started pinning them.

Edit: In this video

Ain't that the truth! Jerry is an amazingly skilled marksman, blows my mind what he can do with crappy iron sights.
