anyone have experience with this powder, or have seen it in stock? Looking for it to load 300 lbkout. in subsonic.

I'm using lil'gun because no AA here. Just with 150 grainers and I'm going for accuracy rather than velocity. I think 15-15.5 is doing it for me, if I recall.

Use 1680 for 220+ gr and purchased from epps last time.

11.8gr to cycle and lbb with subs in my 9" barrel.

what projectiles are you using? I have an NEA 7.5,..with a comp. I had to remove one weight from the buffer to get it to cycle 208 gr hornady factory.

i have loaded my own 208 and they cycled fine. I have a spikes t2 buffer and semi bcg.

I have used 220smk and cast 230gr lee that all cycle fine.

Check your gas block is not out. Sounds like not enough gas to cycle.

it has the FA BCG,...i was thinking a semi bcg would be better. It functions great with 110gr hornady and LMT H2 buffer.

Factory 208gr Hornady is weak ammo, not many rifles will cycle it well.

300blk has a much slower bolt speed than 223, you shouldn't need a heavy buffer, if you have trouble with any ammo you try first thing I would do is swap to a standard carbine buffer.
Have you chrony'd your 220gr loads, loading hot enough for them to cycle with a heavy buffer is probably putting you pretty close to supersonic.

OP, I have loads developed for almost every bullet weight available and my best loads are with H110 for supersonic loads under 130gr and A1680 for my heavier loads. I have a load using 155gr A-max and A1680 shooting supersonic (I think they are around 1900fps but I'd have to check my book to verify) into sub moa groups from 2 of my 300blk rifles.

Lil'gun works well for mid weight bullets but I haven't found a load as accurate as the load with the A1680.

I don't know where to find either of them right now and hope to find some A1680 soon as my stock is getting low.

I will have to chrony the 230 next time im at the range with a standard buffer.

My 208gr loads that cycle the semi auto rifles are doing just over 1150fps (18.5 inch barrel ACR) with 12.4gr of A1680. I need to make more of these and try them in my 12 inch AR and 16.5 inch Rem 700.

My 155gr A-max load I mentioned earlier is 20.2gr of A1680. My NR ACR and my Rem 700 AAC both love it. 17gr of Lil'gun gives similar groups at 1950-2000fps from the ACR.

I need to do a bunch more development and really need to find a good cheap load for the AR but have too many rifles to find loads for right now. Progress is slow :(

I don't think I took lil'gun over 16.5gr. Maybe I'll stretch it out a bit more and see if I can find a better node for the 150's

I hear so much good about the AA powder and I have NEVER seen the stuff.... irksome...

Jo Brooks has Lil Gun in stock. They jacked the prices on their Hodgdon powders recently.

Load development is most of the fun ;)

Of course I have a few hundred rounds of crappy loads to either burn off or pull.... naw - more fun to burn them off.

i am experimenting with buffers weights. i know my 7.5 NEA cycles the 110 even with an LMT H2 buffer. I had the 208 cycle at a fine line with the regular buffer minus 1 weight. I believe it will be reliable minus 2 weights, but with the aluminum spacer from a rifle buffer to make up for the empty space, as it also weights about half what a weight weighs.
The NEA top end i bought should work with the NEA reciever i purchased a few months ago,..but it seems to be catching on the hammer more that it should ...probably just needs to be worked in. The hammer and internals in the reciever are DD. I think a lightened bcg or even a semi bcg instead of the FA BCG would likely help cycling subsonics.

thanks again. Love this little gun, ...trying to keep the weight down on it.

i have a bit of processed 223 brass once fired....I was thinking of getting the Frankford armory case trimmer to cut down the .223 if i run out of my current brass...only have about 150 pieces plus the ammo i have not used yet.
