Any reason to not just tumble lube the cast boolits rather than lube sizing?
What brands of plated bullet do you recommend that we can purchase here in Canada.
Berry's or Campro.
Depends. I'm happy with them as cast and lubed in 45 but the 9mm ones were awful. Still, sizing an undersized bullet wasn't going to help. My god you should have seen the leading....
If you're going to size, I see no point in a tumble lube bullet design, and if I have to size bullets for an auto loader I'd rather just buy the things.
I shoot almost exclusively cast WW boolits in my 45ACP and have never sorted any brass, not once lol. I do lubesize them though, this is a must for most autoloaders. Casting from free wheel weights is the best decision I ever made in regards to handloading, I'm sitting at $65/1000 rounds out the door for 45ACP not factoring in my time.
I have fired thousands of cast bullets both lube sized & tumble lubed out of various hand guns without encountering a problem.Thank you for your advice Steve. I am going to give the Berry's a try. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
