Hey Gun Nutters,

Looking for opinions on aftermarket trigger experience's and where they were purchased. I am looking to upgrade mine and right now I am looking at a Geissele trigger for it, but I am open to suggestions from those who have used something else. Thanks for your time.

I had TV-PressPass' Timney for a while, and while it is nice, I did have a couple burst fires with the 150-200 rounds I used it for. I then had a later gen Timney that I had to sell to cover vehicle repairs, but I function tested 60 rounds through it for the buyer with out a hitch. The Timney is more of a 4.5 single stage trigger, and is available from Acurate Action, CTCS, Reliable Gun, and a few others I believe.

My Geissele that I now have has 250+ rounds through it and has ran flawlessly. It is a 2 stage design with an adjustable 1st stage, with and 2.5-4.5lb 1st stage and a 4.5lb second stage. It is available from Arms East.

The Timney retails for about $400cad+tax & shipping, the Geissele is about $420cad+tax & shipping.

As far as my personal opinions on them, I felt the Timney was a huge improvement over the factory triggers, but I found I had trouble learning the trigger to know when it was going to break. The general feeling was mush to me.

The Geissele on the other hand seems to be very repeatable. Prep the trigger to the wall, then pull the last little bit, and it breaks cleanly. It also has a very audible and tactile reset. The reset is also extremly short, which is nice if you want to string a few rounds together.
