A Question for PPQ Owners

I just got my restricted license and was in my LGS trying out different handguns to see what I found most comfortable. I tried out lots of different pistols but the absolute best fit for me was a HK P30L, the only other one that came close was a Walther P99.

My question, is the Walther PPQ's grip more similar to the P99 or P30L? I ask because I probably won't get to handle a PPQ unless I buy one and it's a pistol that has all the features I want. I just want to get an idea of how it feels in the hand. Thanks.

Not sure how it compares, but the PPQ is a nice pistol. Very accurate. One other thing to keep in mind is that the PPQ "classic" with the paddle mag release is a bit thinner as the M2 version had to add the mag release to the grip. Most who have shot both prefer the "classic" pistol grip for fit.

If I get a PPQ it will definitely be an M1. To me the paddle mag release is easier to get to then a button.

I have the PPQ M2 (mag release button instead of the paddles), and it is very close to the P99.

The main reason I chose it over a P99 is that I didn't like the extra buttons and levers of the P99 (or H&K models). I have no use for a de-cocking button, so the PPQ was perfect for my needs.

The build quality is outstanding, the ergo fit is amazing, and as I'm sure you've researched, the trigger is the best thing going.

You have to get the Navy version is you want the 4" slide, though, and my next project is to shave this barrel down to 106mm.

I had to go through IRG to get the M2 version, which worked out well other than my serial number starts with "FAT". Doh!

All three are pretty close. If you want to compare them, it's like having a P99 shaped grip with P30L texturing. There are slight differences in grip shape with the PPQ though.

I have a PPQ M1 Navy and a P30.
They both have the customizable grips, so it is kind of a moot question.

Both are adjusted to my hand and feel good. Both shoot well.

For what it's worth I shoot the PPQ really well, for a light polymer pistol.
Never really got used to a Glock and i had a gen 4.

PPQ has a bit more 'girth' than a P99 which is narrower. The 'bumps' on the sides of the PPQ grip fills your hand more. That being said I find it's easier to obtain a consistent trigger pull with the PPQ vs. the P99 as the grip positions my trigger finger perfectly.

I'm also looking to purchase the PPQ M2 also.
If I purchase from irungunz us site, would the warranty still be valid that I'm a Canadian?
Any thoughts?

Tom

ppq m1 all the way. I shoot that pistol the most accurately out of the 4 pistols I own. at 10 yards, I generally group under 3 inches. I know this is nothing compared to most of the people on this forum, but for me it its good enough...

PPQ is the best polymer gun I own. I had pretty much all the popular polymer guns one time but PPQ is the only one I kept.

Super accurate and ergos are second to the P30L which I couldn't hit the side of a barn.
