Well, I said I would never do it but I think the time may have come to let go? This was the first real "hunting" rifle I aquired and because of it's rather unique in being a pump .270 and it's a great shooter. But it has become a safe queen and should be out there taking deer.

I think I am having seporation anxiety already! :)

Thoughts anyone?

If you sell it you will prob ably come to regret it. Let it sit in the safe until the day you're interested in revisiting it, when it will perform well for you again. The 7600s don't have particularly high resale value, so its not like you'll swap it for a Dakota.

In your opinion what do you think one of these would be worth with a middle of the road scope and sling?

thy sell for 400$ to 500$ you will see them posted for more but what thy sell for is in this range for one in good shape .thy did make a lot of them that's for sure millions and thy do sell .you will have no problem selling her .I would consider trading her instead of selling that way you got something to play will and will not feel so bad about letting her go Dutch

You're better selling the scope separately than you are attempting to use it to increase the value of the rifle, usually adding a scope in with the deal doesn't put more money in the seller's pocket, but it can make the gun sell quicker, ditto the sling. I think $450 is ball park.

Keep it. As Boomer said, you will one day regret your decision if you decide to sell it. Then again I am a nostalgic kind of guy. To some folks a rifle is just a tool and nothing more.

And you can't buy much with $450, so I would just keep it. I can't imagine selling my first gun, and its only a 1-year old savage mark ii.

edit - I now notice you say first real hunting rifle, not first gun. Still wouldn't sell it for what you'd likely get for it. It makes a perfect first hunting rifle for a child, neice/nephew, ect if you've got someone to pass it along to, or even to just let 'em borrow for a hunt.

Thanks for the great takes. But, looks like I'm going to have to let her go. But in doing so, the wife's Xmas gift will get a bit nicer and that may earn me some brownie points when considering my next FA purchase next year...the MH-1 maybe? :)

Rem 7600 deliema, now Reduced for quick sale..I've decided it has to go.

Well...it's now priced for quick sale and has been reduced by $175 over in the EE.

I've just gotta ask, what was the point of even asking if you should sell it, if you are just going to ignore every single one of us anyways? And then sell it on the cheap no less??

Well at least someone else gets to enjoy it.

#### that. My wife calls the shots around here too. I dont know about you, but I still like getting laid... And as they say, happy wife, happy life.

Its the amazing thing with women. I piss her off, and the balls in her court. She pisses me off, and the balls STILL in her court, 'cause if she says its go-time Im certainly not about to say no.

That said, I dont tell her she has to sell those shoes she hasn't worn since she bought 'em, and I expect the same in return with my stuff.

He had a typo, it's priced at $575 shipped. I would sell if it's not serving you, but on pure hunting guns I'm not an overly sentimental type. If they're not getting used, they head on to somebody who will use them.

Although I do appreciate everyone's input on this. It made me think about it further and as per the above, this is kind of where my head ended up in the end.

I agree with you. The good side of this is she has no idea I'm trying to sell it so an extra gift or 2 under the tree based on that is a no brained for brownie points! ;)
