Why all the 10-22 rifles for sale on the EE?

I love mine but will be selling it not because I have any issues with it but because I wanna switch over to a single platform for long gun action shooting, so doing an AR-22 build (NEA lower, A2 buttstock, CMMG target upper and if you knew what I'll be blowing on the trigger you'd stop complaining about Volquartsen prices forever ;) )

I had a bad 10/22 right out of the box. QC must be crap these days I wonder if more people are having issues. I see lots for sale locally too.

Mine was junk out of the box... Overcasting in the receiver that needed Dremel work, the barrel channel was carved by the dullest router known to man - if you ran your finger down it, you'd pick up slivers... The list of problems was long. I eventually got it reliable. I gave up on making it accurate. It spends a lot of time in the safe.

I have decent .22s that shoot well. No need to waste time with my 10/22.

I made the mistake of buying it last summer while the panic was still on, and all Ruger cared about was pumping out "Rifle Like Objects" to turn a quick buck.

Just and FYi, if you're going to sell your Ruger's they aren't worth more than $275 used. New guns are $289 all day so stop trying to get your money back.

Sounds like the time that guy was selling his used M&P22 for 450$ because he had ''upgraded it'' by removing the factory thumb safety and magazine disconnect while they are at 389$ NIB at Jo-Brook Firearms.

carefull they will shut the thread down

Not an overly useful thread to begin with. However, in spirit of the OP's question, yes there are plenty for sale for several reasons.

Most popular semi auto .22 ever built
Christmas season means foolish people over spend and then have to sell stuff to pay the bills.
Christmas season means people are looking to capitalize on others desire for said rifle as a gift.
Chronic A.D.D. in the firearms community means people buy and sell every other hour.
Unrealistic expectations from a rimfire semi auto leads to disappointed owners and thus a desire to sell.
Uninformed/unskilled shooters unhappy with poor results from rifle equals desire to sell.
Desire to have the latest and greatest means constant buying and selling.

bingo!!!

And sometimes guns just don't work out. Once I bought a Buck Mark and it was a great, accurate little gun but I just didn't bring it out to shoot it, so I sold it to a good home, where it got the love it deserved :) The T97 was a fine gun, but its ergos aren't up to snuff for competitive action shooting, so I switched to the AR platform. Changing conditions at the club (steel core ban) meant that I didn't get to shoot the SKS either, so I sold it and put the money toward purchasing a dot I wanted to run on my AR.. Many countries have restrictions on how many guns you can own or expensive red tape (for ALL guns) that makes the CFO's transfers feel good, so their shooters don't get go experiment as much as we do. We should be grateful for what we got :)

i must have gotten a good one then before they ran out...love it and wouldn't remove it from my collection, its easy to clean, easy to shoot, easy to modify...it cycles like a dream now, its a great way to just let lead fly...and my wife wouldn't let me sell it anyways

I would guess that since they're cheap and plentiful the seller knows he can just get a new one whenever. Lack of 22LR availability probably doesn't help either.

Flahertys had 6 boxes of 222's yesterday (there were a dozen, I got 6). Might have a bit left still. I also found 222 at Cambridge Fail, but more expensive and who knows if they got any left.

There are a few 10/22's for sale on EE right now for sure. I picked one up this time last year. I still have to get some better magazines though. The Butler Creek mag gives me a hard time. I am thinking about picking up a HC3R magazine kit from Bullseye here in London.
