The Garand is quite heavy, the gas system buffers the recoil and the stock profile is good, all making for a comparatively light recoil.
Adding a muzzle brake would be an unnecessary solution for a non-existant problem. Thankfully there aren't a lot of aftermarket gee-haws and whifftickers on offer for them.

I can see where a muzzle brake on a Garand makes perfect sense for someone into 3-gun and CQB competitions. Also, throw a red dot on that old girl.

You'll find one, they are in Canada. I have one and like it. Really tames the 30-06 recoil.
Don't see how this could be itar, its not military, an aftermarket part.
where did you get yours? my rifle is .308 so it will have even less recoil![]()
