Hello all, I just picked up a decent SVT 40 at my LGS and was wondering if any of you had any info on it. I have wanted one of these for a while and thought do I really need another gun? Well it turns out the answer was yes. I just have to hide this one from the wife lol. I think I took all the picks of the markings, If i missed some please let me know!!

Edit, I'm an idiot when it comes to pictures... Sorry for the large size. But hey the markings are easy to see
Thanks, Fungun

I knew there was an unopened crate sitting there, so with some sweet talking and begging i hand picked it. It was the only notched one in the crate so I took it. Brought it home and its in fairly good condition so far. I hope to strip it down and clean it on my next set off so i can see what the bore looks like.

How do you tell a sniper from a non sniper ?

There is a groove running down the full length of both sides of the receiver dust cover close to the stock. The scope mount slides in from the rear of the receiver.

Addley Precision in Midland Ontario makes an outstanding Scope Mount for the SVT-40...

Corwin Arms has repro mounts on their site. He used to have the scopes too, but I don't see them anymore. Anyways, it would be worth giving him a call (or email) if you're interested.

Can you take some better pics of the notch,,,, I have to notch mine... and can you tell me the size and depth.

Thanks

This is a pic of the Addley Precision mount (Made in Canada)

He doesn't need that mount... He has the Notch and rails....

and that mount look ridiculous on a SVT.... IMHO... and to top it off it look like you need to remove the mount to take the rifle apart....
