Can't wait til these start showing up up here. Lighter and much easier on the eyes. That muzzle break is cool too.

Very cool. I think it looks good. Honesty, I prefer the wood stock.

I love my Scout Rifle, and the hideous laminate stock. One of the few guns that I'll never sell.

I don't mind the laminate stock, but getting the weight down with the composite stock is a nice feature. Cooper's original concept of the Scout Rifle was to weigh no more than 6.6lbs [3 kilos] and this stock should accomplish that.

Apparently the composites will be offered as a separate product...I wonder what the price will be?

I agree if we are talking about the limited run of walnut stocks these came in, but the black laminate stock is just hideous.
My taste runs toward black rifles usually (ARs, Tavors, FS2000s, Vectors, etc) but weirdly I must say I much prefer the look of the laminated stock to the new all-black composite one (although lighter weight is always a plus in my books). Maybe this is some kind of black rifle Rorschach test :)

Gah, bought mine too soon. Weight savings, while significant, aren't the attraction of composite stocks for me; I tend to baby wood and like the freedom of not caring about marring a plastic stock.

I called Ruger's parts desk this morning. These stocks aren't available for separate purchase yet, and the woman I spoke to didn't expect them to be available until mid-January or February. Unfortunately she couldn't give me a price.

I like the grey laminated stock - It doesn't stand out like a black stick of death in the woods and on the prairies - looks kinda cool. I feel it's denser and dampens vibration better than polymer or walnut.
