.
Well it arrived today from P&D, very quickly thanks! Here are some initial thoughts and observations.
I have a 2.5-16 scope coming for this rifle, but for now I couldn't resist putting something on it just to test it out, and so it wouldn't look so naked...
The actual colours of the stock are a bit darker / richer than on web pics. But they certainly are vivid. The stock feels nice and smooth to the touch.
It's a matte finish, which I much prefer over gloss.

Overall it has a nice shape and feel to it. The stock is angled nicely so you can make small elevation adjustments on your bags by slightly pushing/pulling.
Might run afoul of snagging the dual sling studs doing that though. (But it's nice touch, so you can sling AND leave your pod attached when not at the range).
Shooting off a bipod will be no problem.
You can see that my scope and rings are a mis-match, sitting a tad too high. That will change once my other stuff arrives in the mail.
Safety seems weird to me, pull back to fire, push to safe. I'll get used to it.

I like the look of the "Buick" holes along the fore end. You can see that they are not cleaned up after machining, but it's no big deal to do yourself later, and what do you expect from a lower-end production rifle? I have to say that I like the looks of the spiral fluted barrel...

You can see that the finish is a little rough upon closer inspection - It comes pre-marked scratched and gouged so that it matches my old scope and rings. lol
Again, no big deal. It cycles smoothly enough, nothing is catching, no big burrs to file. I'll likely take it all apart and do some sanding though.

The bolt knob is nicely rubbed too, right out of the box, giving it a "lived in" look.
Mags all worked fine loaded up with 5 rounds each, no signs of "popcorn-ing" like some have reported.

One thing - this stock could seriously benefit from a bit of a palm swell to make it more comfortable, but that is purely a personal preference.
Overall, I like it. There are a few minor blemishes, but Savage mostly got this right....however, beauty is only skin deep!
The real test will come when I get to shoot it. Further reports then.
