bought a Girsan compact as a new/unfired on the EE from a guy who told me he just bought it a month ago (july 2014) at local store in his area
receipt was suppose to be included with purchase but wasnt... seller reassured me it would be possible to have a copy at local shop if needed
gun looked fine and is awesome to shoot

today, after two range trips, i decided to clean it to realize the disassembly lever was broken

im a bit surprised after watching the endurance test at Girsan factory that it would break after 200 rounds

anybody know if there is any way i can have the part replace under warranty... nut much info on Girsan warranty in canada
im waiting on a response from seller (who seem to be a standup guy) to have a copy of the receipt and store where he bought it but im pretty sure they will refer me to Girsan service center or something like that... anybody had experience with Girsan warranty ?

thanks

Prb easier to order a new Beretta one from Brownell's from what they say parts are interchangeable

ht tp://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/disassembly-parts/levers-latches/disassembly-lever-m92-96-sku913100540-28353-58425.aspx

shows out of stock, but they usually restock quickly

You could just buy a Beretta one and put it in, they are around $20....
Waiting for warranty if they even cover it for you as the second owner would be a long time I'm sure.

that was option b to replace myself at my cost... but im not sure the finish on the blued beretta will fit the black paint of the girsan... its not that big of a deal but...

i will keep an eye out for restock at brownells ...

was looking at buying other girsan models probably a 1911... may reconsider if they are not backing their products
especially with stuff like this as a sell pitch : http://www.girsan.com.tr/en/tests

contacted Al Simmons (where the gun was originally bought) and they will contact Girsan in january
lets hope for the best

You'll get one on warranty of that I have no doubt but you might be a Loooooong time waiting for it. I've got a Springfield in warranty 3 years now........

man that really sucks. I have shot around 4-500 through mine without issues. Sucks that the place is taking that long just to even contact Girsan about it. I would be pissed off. I got mine and shot about 300 through it. went to detail strip and my pin that holds the hammer is was stuck at the time. The place i got it from told me they will either take it out for me or replace the whole gun. I just kept my gun and now it detail strips normally.

Is this Al simmons in hamilton?

For the cost of replacing it, I would probably do that rather than actually deal with warranty, but I would still pursue it so I know what warranty help is like if I actually need it down the road.

Well i dont know about Girsan waranty, but i have had my dealings with SW warranty as Jackrabbit as well and lets just say it took 17 months to get my gun back, so i would order one from Brownells, just put it on back order.
For 17.99 you cant go wrong and youll have your gun a heck of a lot faster, order up a "D" spring while your at it along with a guide rod spring.

Still don't have mine back yet. It's around 19 or 20 months now. Lost count, it's been so long. The last time I talked to them, they didn't know where it was or which location it was at. They don't respond to emails anymore...I think they lost it.

OP...easier to just buy one and install it yourself.

thanks for the tip with the D spring.... looks to be worth it
this lever will cost me a 100$ order at brownelll ..... too hard to resist ordering other parts :)

the Beretta is not blued either, its a proprietary coating. think fancy black paint, not surface dye.

Your Girsan slide is also coated with something similar, so it will be very close.
