7 mm

7x57. Just got one in a Winchester M70 but I was on the road when it arrived and now I'm away for Christmas visiting family so it has to wait until the New Year. Can't wait to get out and shoot it!

I have always been a big fan of the 7mm Rem Mag! I still have the old Parker Hale 7mag that I got over 20 years ago. It is old and heavy but has served me well and has taken many animals.

Same here - I hunt with a PH 1200C 7mm Rem MAG rifle from 1974. It's dropped many animals and it will drop many more in my lifetime.

7mm STW; past, present, most likely into the future and in both wildcat and factory renditions. I've also had 7 Rems and still have one, mostly because it will fit in a Kimber. There is some overlap between the two and although it may not make any difference on a typical day I see no advantage to the shorter case. I have a 7/08 that is sort of fun, but the only reason its in the rack is for a light recoiling gun for my daughter. It does that very well.

I like the 7mm Mauser, but would concede that the 7/08 is probably the better of the two as it fits into a short action.

I like 7mm's in general... currently shooting and loading 7mm-08, 7X57 & 7 RM... I tend to download the 08 and upload the other two... this has alot to do with the platform and usage... my 08's are in short compact deer rifles... the others are in Ruger No.1's and bolt action rifles optimized for longer shooting on heavier game.

There are many but what one is your favorite and why? Past present factory or wildcat

7mm Rem Mag in the right rifle deadly accurate, only slightly more recoil than the ever popular .30-06 and like the 06 ammo can be found most anywhere. Plus its been around as long as I have 1962 a very good year!!! :)

I started with the 280, went up to 7mm rem mag then went to the 7mm-08 I think the 7x57 is my favourite

7x57 is hands down my favorite.....but.....I also have rifles in 280 Rem, 7SAUM, 7mm Rem Mag....you get the picture.

I do like the 7's a lot.

Regards, Dave.

Huh, and here I thought that's what made the 7X57 better. To me the 7-08 was at best a reinvention, and at worse, a step backwards from a standard set 122 years ago. While the 7-08 stands as a good cartridge, its not as good as the 7X57, just as the 7X57 isn't as good as the .280, nostalgia notwithstanding, although it is more or less a clone of the 7X64 Brenneke.
