M305's on sale

I think if a retailer says these rifles are generally 3 to 4 moa out of the box, they are being realistic and honest with their customer. Here in the main battle rifle forum we have seen these rifles shoot far better with a lil help from the community here.

Got it home, opened up, and out of the grease bag. This thing is heavy-duty! Looks good. Not sure if the safety is working right though. Doesn't seem to go all the way on, and I can repeatedly apply pressure to the trigger and after a few tries it fires. not contact with the safety. Will take a closer look when I get it apart.

If you're sure the safety absolutely will not engage and it's not just very stiff, then the safety may be out of spec.

The same thing happened to me. SFRC offered to replace the whole rifle, but the rest of the rifle was great, so I just picked up a USGI safety off of Treeline, installed it and it worked fine.

I removed a very small amount of metal with a jewelers file off my buddies and it works fine. If you operate the safety out of the rifle it is obvious where the interference is.

I looked, but for the life of me, I couldn't see where it was happening. Swapping out the safety was easier for me. Where do you get a jeweller's file and how much do they cost?

this couldn't have come at a worst time....i hate choosing between a new gun or my wedding band....im going to get shot with it if i buy it

Wow. That went fast.

Barney, when are going to have another clinic for all these M305 newbies???

Yeah, it engages, but weakly. I figured it out. the hammer was riding on the safety which prevented the safety from moving all the way back. I removed a bit of material from the edge of the safety where it was contacting and it fully engages now. pulling the trigger while the safety is on will move the safety a bit, but the safety returns to safe when the pressure is removed from the trigger.

The rest of the rifle looks good, so I am happy it was an easy fix.
