Interesting take on the 10/22 even if it runs over $1000

This would be awesome but sadly it'll never be legal in Canada. Electric paintball markers can be chipped to run more than 19 balls per second and I'm sure it would only be a matter of time for someone to do the same to this.
As far as trigger pull, the only resistance would be a tiny micro switch and magnets or little springs to reset the trigger.
I do not argue that this would be totally awesome!
 
I can see the benefit of an electric trigger AND IGNITION system (no moving parts, trigger could be set to 0.001lbs), but I just don't see the allure of an electronically actuated mechanical trigger. You're just adding more moving parts to the mix and increasing the delay between trigger pull and firing.

Or am I missing something?

A benefit to an electronic trigger that actuates a mechanical trigger and can be retrofitted onto existing firearms would be to ease the conversion to a bulpup.

I'm no gunsmith, but I'm pretty confident I could "retrofit" a forward bullpup trigger to pull the rear trigger with a bent piece of coat hanger. Or 2 little pulleys and a shoelace.

Now... If we're talking about a 10/22 mounted behind your pick up truck grill, with a remote electrical trigger and a web cam hot glued to the scope... THEN i see why you need an electric trigger mechanism. Gettin' all James Bondy.

I'm no gunsmith either, but I'm pretty confident your "retrofitting" would result in a crap trigger pull... one of the most frequent complaints about bullpups in general. (Other than lefty compatibility).

What I am confident about, however, is that the trigger pull on a microswitch is pretty crisp and short. :)

Really? You don't see how a non-mechanical switch can't be made to operate better than a mechanical one? Everything can be adjustable on a microswitch, which is simply not possible on a mechanical trigger. Many (maybe most) of the very high end rimfire target pistols used in Olympic events have electric triggers for this very reason. They went to electric from mechanical systems to improve performance, not for any other reason.

Nonsense, you can operate a trigger however you like. But you can only get ONE shot per trigger pull/crank revolution/stock movement/whatever. If the device allows you to simulate full auto or fire multiple rounds substantially faster than a conventional trigger system it is prohibited.

It is a prohibited device because it is a bullpup stock design, the electric trigger has nothing to do with it. Conversion to full auto is illegal on its own, regardless of how it is achieved.

From what I can see it is mostly an easy way to solve the problem of connecting the trigger to the sear on a bullpup conversion. The other improvement would be a fully adjustable trigger that can be easily optimized to whatever the user wants. You are completely correct that it is adding parts and complexity to the system, which is never desirable overall.

I'm out, this is another hair brained way for antis to push the agenda of firearm safe zones by electronically being able to lock out a user in specific areas.
not in my guns.
 
The Trigger Reminds me of my Paintball Years ...


Does Anybody remember the ####### at the paintball field with the TIPPMANN 98 with e-trigger & tadao board that could fire as fast as Ego E-tek.

Yeah e-triggers. .22 ain't that cheap... Cool product though
