Why do purists enter threads clearly not intended for them?

Why do Bubbas post in a Milsurp section? I'm all for well done mods... but an AFG on a Mosin is basically the definition of missing the point.

Lol Tyler, although you are right and a grip on a mosin is kind of weird, everyone has their own taste. Me personally? I understand the need for preservation of proper milsurps, but I got a Mauser that was essentially a box of mismatched parts so there is no purity left. So I made it into something that serves a purpose and I enjoy. Would be no different than if I did it to a $200 Stevens. To each their own. Some I like. Some look like dog ####. But at the end of the day I don't get my panties in a knot lol.

Here's my "custom" Israeli Mauser, S&K instamount, hand made cheek rest, trench mag and VX-1 3-9x40. This is one of my favorites for sure.

It is in fact 308, I have it feeding good with snap caps but haven't tried a full mag live yet. The spacer in the mag is tapered on top to feed correctly if the Mag doesn't feed right live I will taper the bottom so it goes into the mag well correctly. Can't wait to smash coyotes with this bad boy lol.

I got a bush 91/59 with a 19" barrel, thats sitting on a red dot. Little lighter then the K98. Wish my K98 was a carbine.

Im the same way, I take only what been bubba and work with those, un touched just get restored to what its suppose to be. IE my M1 carbine, only thing left to swap out is the Type III handguard/bayonet lug, and M2 potbelly stock.

That thing should be on a tripod. From something that doesn't match. With an ammo can like a belt fed but not actually belt fed just used to hold Pilsner. That should help the purists find the beauty.
