Original, unused M14-E2 stocks available!!!

Sprayed half a can on it and kept rubbing it with a clean rag, still fairly orange/yellow all it really did was make the surface dry out chalked looking.

I may still do one more sand/steelwool buff and layer of Minwax Tung Oil , But below is the After effects of applying it.

I also took the Fiberglass handgaurd that was sent to me. and painted it , The cream colored /Beige brown that it was painted from USGI was ugly/fugly.
I had some Really Dark brown paint made up for it , Think darker than cappuccino. but not quite black kinda like darker side of walnut.

Ill add a Full rifle picture after this I think its going to look quite good.

maybe pictures with better lighting would work out better to show the grains too lol , Meh phone lighting isn't so great.

Update.. Finished and fitted with the gun, scoped aswell..

A couple of E2 M14 that were in the back of the safe.
Can't have just one. Makes the hard to find parts even harder with 2 of them.

The rear one...what wood? Looks great btw...I also spot a ventilated handguard & rare fore-grip on the rear E2,
correct sling in a bag, M2 bipod, plus an E2 compensator on the front birch-stocked E2. Awesome!

The dark E2 came that way. I believe the wood is Birch with a heavy dark stain.
With a satin varnish is my guess. I purchased The bare stock from the EE sometime ago.
The light colored one is all Original With a light sanding 500grit and then Briwax
do u know What other types of wood were available in the E2?

Lee Emerson (aka Different) says that M14E2's were made of birch or walnut, but that at least one
cherry and one laminate have been discovered. If you haven't read Lee's M14 RHAD (research, history & development)
it is available to download (free) at the M14.ca website, and is an invaluable resource for all fans of the platform.
