Why are glock 19s so hard to find?

Probably because they are considered to be prohib in their "from-the-factory" form and require a longer barrel to be "restricted" for a larger market and not a lot of outfits are willing to do that for stocking on the shelf. As a result, it tends to be a special order item and that reduces the number in circulation. I bought mine from IRunGuns and it cost me less than what a lot of guys are asking for in EE (typical). Every once in awhile you will see a retailer with a half dozen or so for sale.

I really like mine. Grip fits me much better than a 17 and of course it is a Glock, so it goes "bang" every time. Enjoy!

Now adays, you can get a glock 19 with a glock factory barrel. But to meet canadian law, you end up with a threaded barrel and higher sights to clear a supressor.

Most people dont really like the look of the threaded barrel, so they'd rather get a glock 17 - which is cheaper anyways.

Hmmm...didn't know that, thanks.

I don't like the look of the G19 with threaded barrel, so I would rather get one (a G19) without. Glad there is another option besides G17. Price is a bit more, you have that right!

Hey guys I just bought a glock 19 off of ee but wondering why they are so hard to find and so rarely come up?

Not anymore. Glock dumped a ton of these into Canada. Did you do a Search? There's lots of them on there.

Check this out. With a TB it's not that much more than a standard Glock. I hate the look of the TB and suppressor sights also.

By that, do you mean "not much more in price than a G17"?

Anyway, it doesn't appear from the picture that different (higher) sights are required. I don't get it.

The sights pictured are the supressor sights with the threaded barrel. They are significantly taller than the stock Glock fixed sights.
The 19s with the non threaded Lone Wolf barrels run stock Glock sights.

Oh, so they create a threaded barrel (now the length is suitable in Canada), then they put stupid-high sights on it. Are they thinking Canadians are going to use a suppressor??? (rhetorical).

Sshhhhh! They are for operators only.
I've had my 19 for close to 30 years. Never ever had a hiccup. That's probably why you don't see too many for sale.

I would suspect the fact they are Canadian-legal is just a byproduct of the design. Probably designed for the places where you are allowed a supressor, and thus the reason they come with the high sights. In the USA you can just buy a regular G19 if you dont want the threaded barrel/high sites. The fact they are Canadian-legal is just a bonus for us that want a g19 with a factory glock barrel.

Do you really believe that these pistols were especially made to accommodate the Canadian firearms regulations?

Agreed.

Don't agree it is a bonus only because the Canadian-legal barrel length is offset by the ugly looking thread protector and unsightly sights...but that of course is just my opinion and I am happy for those who prefer it.

If you would rather, you can buy a regular g19, and then pay someone to install a longer barrel for yah. Or you can just buy the threaded one with high sights. The fact you can just walk into a LGS and buy a g19 off the shelf is the bonus.

I did. IRunGuns. Took under a week for me to get it and the total cost including taxes and shipping to my house was less than the before tax & shipping price for the threaded ones selling on the Wolverine web site right now. That may have been a special deal, I don't know. Full kit including three mags, bla, bla, bla. Not slamming anyone or anything...just indicating there are comparable options.

Agreed. The fact someone does not see them on EE often means little (I have seen them frequently enough BTW). Go buy a new one from Mr. Grumpy or IRG at your preference and don't look back. Either is a great option and you have your choice of threaded or not.
