Wondering if anyone here or any H&K P7 owners know of any reliable gunsmith that know their way around a P7M8 in Ontario, I'm having issues with light strikes on my P7 and I would like to get the issue taken care of.

Thanks in advance

Ok, last dumb question.. how often does the light strikes happen and did you try the light strike rounds in another 9mm? Making sure the rounds were not duds. If not, I hope there's someone who can help you in TO. Really sorry to hear about it.

tried it on my other P7M13 and my P30 both shot the light striked rounds fine so the rounds is definitely not a dud I hope there is a Gunsmith that can look into my issue and fix it I really love shooting the P7

you need to replace the striker spring. If your mechanical it's not hard. Finding the spring may take a bit of searching but they are available or a good smith should be able to come up with a replacement

+1 for Numrich. Replacing that spring is very easy.
Let me know if you need help, I'll guide you through it once you have the part. I would also grab the firing pin and a bushing while you at it.

Do you know any smith in Ontario that can assist?
I had the gunsmith at Police Ordnance replace a broken firing pin in my USP years ago. They were great to deal with and their fees were quite reasonable from what I remember. Give them a call, they are located in Markham.

I don't want to start a fight on CGN, because this issue has been fought long, hard, and often on US gun sites, but respected opinion is that you should never use 147 grain ammo in the P7. The gas system was specifically designed for NATO-spec 124 grn ammo, which is/was hotter than standard 115/124 grain 9mm loads in the US, and only slightly less hot than +P loads. The pressure curve on the 147 grain loads basically over-gas the system. As to the light strike problem, I would first pull the firing pin assembly out of the gun and inspect it and the firing pin channel for debris. Otherwise, it sounds like a spring issue to me.
