I don't get your complaints. Whats wrong with classic European Q-D claw mounts on a Mauser?
it’s a vintage rifle , the rings are 1960 Euro trash not classic or vintage. the scope is as new fresh out of the factory.
A vintage classic Mauser would look better with a vintage classic scope and rings.
Its kinda like putting a tube top and mini skirt on your grandma. its just not right.

Don't worry Rob they just don't realize this is the way early mauser's were scoped. I have seen a few and thought they were strange too, but it is the correct set up for a classic Mauser. a vintage blued steel german scope would look much nicer in that mount though.

I have always liked anachronisms and see nothing wrong with a high quality modern scope on a customized vintage rifle. After all, its not just a restoration project and you do want to hit something with it. Most vintage German scopes I've seen belong in museum collections along with appropriately matching rusted out "vintage" barrels.
